Great Value and fun layout
I've played this course several times over the years and the new ownership has done a great job of put this course in tip
top shape. The ball sets up in the fairway and the greens roll true.
Very slow round
Everything was fine except for pace of play. Not sure if people just don't know golf etiquette anymore or golf courses don't have rules anymore. I was a twosome stuck behind a slow playing twosome who was following and waiting on a FIVESOME. Not sure when fivesome were allowed to play. I'm fine with it as long as they don't hold up other groups. Having to wait on literally every shot is ridiculous and having to wait on the tee for 10 minutes at a time is uncalled for. Ended skipping two holes just to get past the slow groups only to be held up by another slow threesome that wouldn't let us go through. Other than that I enjoyed the course. It was in great shape for this time of year and in better shape than in past years.
Excellent Course for the Price!
Great layout. Course is fairly challenging, but offers multiple tees for all skill sets to enjoy. Greens aren't the quickest, but they are smooth and roll true, and also very receptive to approach shots. If you are considering this course, it is worth the drive.
Round with friend
Played on a Friday afternoon with a friend. Course was in the best condition I had ever seen. Had a great time played in 3 hours.
Pudding Ridge
The Pudding Ridge Golf Course is in excellent shape. Have played here several times in the past few years, but now the course is in the best condition I've ever seen it. The staff are all very nice and friendly. Will enjoy playing the golf course frequently.
Back in June
Course was in excellent shape. Front nine are not as challenging as the back nine but shot placement still matters. As usual, each time I have played Pudding Ridge it has a lot of play, but they do a fantastic job keeping the course in great shape.
Great place to play
I look around and play different places. I always have had an eye for this course. Course is in great shape. Never had any problems with staff. Greens are about the best I have seen anywhere..
Excellent conditions at pudding ridge!
First time here . We all loved it !
Wide open and green fairways .
Wide open approach shots also. This course reminded me of Possum Trot in myrtle beach.
The staff was excellent
There was a back up on hole 1 so we jumped on 10 and saw no one !
Them went back to 1 and it was wide open!
We will be back ! I like it better than tanglewood and oak valley!
An open and easy course to play. Posted my best round ever. Enjoyed the day and would recommend this course. Tees, fairways, and greens were in in great shape.
I enjoyed playing it
The weather was moderate, so that was not a condition; Play flowed smoothly as long as there weren't gangsomes to contend with. I would certainly hope nto return soon...
Excellent greens
Course is in good shape. Still very wet from all the rain we have had. Greens were the best I have seen them in a long time.
Course is well priced for it's style of play.
Course is well maintained, fairways in great shape, around the greens are decent, green speeds still a little slow. But overall experience is good. Great place to play
Beautiful and demanding!
Pudding Ridge is a terrific golf course. It's certainly not for beginners, as I had my wife and daughter with me. While the fairways are wide, it is pretty long for a novice. The green complexes are excellent, and the terrain makes for a wonderful challenge. I will be back to play this course again..
There's a good bit of water. It is easily one of the prettiest layouts in the Piedmont of NC, which is saying a lot. We played shortly after the greens were aerated, but I can tell they will be very quick once they heal!
Not golfer focused
The pro shop staff would not give you a golf cart until 20 minutes before your tee time. This means you need to carry your bag around if you want to hit balls or put. Very inconvenient. This was a Saturday. Most golf clubs have starters on the weekends. This one doesn't. This is a bad way to control the starting times.
Great Value
The course was in very good shape for this time of year. The layout was good and will be challenging in the spring.
a Golf Now first
As for the golf course, except for a number of bare/thin spots on the fairways/tees and the greens being recently (late) punched, it was okay and our group had fun. Tees seemed way up from what I remember from previous visits to Pudding Ridge. However, for the first time in my many years of utilizing Golf Now, the very grumpy old fella behind the counter informed me that keys for the carts couldn't be released until 15 minutes before tee time. What??? Why???
