River Bend Country Club

Staff is amazing and you can tell a lot of work is being put in. The greens have a ways to go but the fairways and tee boxes are quickly improving! Keep it going!

Pace of play was great as the course was not busy. The staff were all friendly. The course needs some help, especially the greens. The layout is pretty good though.

The course can use some improvements but its overall a great golf course!

Course is great. But tee boxes, and greens need some extra love.

One temporary green looks like it will never recover. The course was in decent condition - fairways where good greens were good but the rough was ridicules.

Everyone is always courteous at the pro shop ! River Bend is a NewBern treasure!

Greeted by Twila who was terrific. We loaded clubs and began play. Hardly anyone else on the course so pace of play was great. Greens were really slow and a couple were bare in spots. Biggest problem was the rough which was so long we actually couldn’t see the ball unless we were standing right on top of it. Made for a really frustrating round and we probably will not return unless the rough has been cut to normal length.

The worst condition I’ve ever seen in. Greens are none existent. The ground keeps need to be fired! The owner is clearly does not need to own a golf course yet alone three. All three are the worst courses in eastern North Carolina.

The course has come a long way, the greens are still a work in progress, but great improvement. The lady at the front was amazing, I was by myself and able to get out early and had a great time! Thank you!

I absolutely love this course. The layout for me is

challenging enough as I am a mid range golfer.

Every time I play here I enjoy it more. The staff in the club house are very friendly as are the dining area staff.

Excellent place to play…

Course conditions were great, one temp green on a par 3, other greens were in excellent condition. Plenty of grass on fairways and well kept, Really enjoyed it but with this weather needed a cart girl or more water access on course, BYOW

I travel for work and try to play somewhere new when i get the opportunity. The photos and reviews looked promising when I found the course through golf now. The staff where nice and the carts where a high quality. And that is where it goes down hill…..the course conditions. The greens are unplayable. Dead spots, burnt to a crisp, or just bare dirt. It was even so bad on hole 6 they have closed that green entirely and placed a flag and cup in the middle of the fairway. After 9 holes I wrapped it up and left after paying full price for 18. The round was not enjoyable.

The course is in good shape staff is always friendly it’s definitely a great place to play golf in East Carolina!
