Dog-Legs Galore
Awesome putting green conditions and overall course condition was very good. Course layout features a lot of dog-legs with large, open landing areas for the drive. Inaccurate driving will leave you 200 yards left on these par 4s. The difficulty of this course is significantly tied to the accuracy of your drive. Very nice course with great electric carts and the staff was very helpful . A bit of a drive from Charlotte, but interesting enough layout and great putting greens making it worth the drive.
Bring long irons
So the staff was super friendly and accommodating! This is actually the primary draw to this course, in hindsight. The condition was good, but a little shaggy after rain the night before. If this course is mown… watch out. The greens can be down right psychotic. The layout is where this place lacks . Short drive shar doglegs are the flavor of the day. Tee length is negated so you better be able to hit long irons!
Nice Course with Great Greens
I was without my usual playing partners so decided to explore a new course a little farther away from Charlotte but with a very good price. I found a course that was overall the equal to most I play closer to home, but with truly outstanding greens. The greens are very fast, but true. I recommend staying below the hole whenever possible. If you don't mind a bit of a drive on some windy country roads (actually quite pleasant), then I highly recommend this course.
Piney Point Golf Club
Piney Point Golf Club is a little off the beaten path on the southern end of Lake Tillery. The clubhouse is spartan, but serves it's purpose well. The staff is very friendly, both inside and out. The club has a new fleet of carts. There is a driving range and large putting green immediately behind the clubhouse. The course is a little shaggy in areas outside of play. The parts of the course that are in play are in excellent shape. Tee boxes are either bermuda or fescue and are lush and green. The fairways are all bermuda and are in fantastic shape after a great summer for growing grass. Same goes for the greens. The grass on the greens is tight and the ball rolls true hole after hole. The course isn't overly long but it still holds plenty of challenge. There are quite a few blind tee shots, many of which also correspond with 90’ doglegs that require precise tee shots. 17 of the 18 holes are guarded by greenside bunkers, some shallow, some deep.
Greens are Beautiful!
Always enjoy Piney Point! Greens are beautiful! Rate of play was good given the players. Cafe food was great! All in all great course!
Great course
Fareways and greens were great got behind a slow group but still a great time.
Hidden Gem
The course was in great shape, the pace of play was fantastic. I will definitely play again...soon.
Sweet
Greens were excellent rough a little long , ball would hide from me but as long as I was in the short grass I had no problems
Very good greens, hard fairways need some TLC
Played for first time, found very good greens but fairways were hard with plenty of weeds. Clubhouse is outdated. Some TLC would help, but since this course is not convenient for the masses, I doubt it will happen. Long ride from home so i can't make this a regular outing.
First and last time playing this course
Upon arriving at the course at tee time reservation, I was told right off that when was my tee time. My phone said right on time , along with his clock. He informed me I was too late. My time was prepaid. He told me I would have to “catch up” with his paired couple. We were bothered by this starter more than once. Play could have been much better, but wasn’t. He stopped our play one time and wanted to let a foursome by us. Although the “foursome” had a walker playing them. This person was very rude. We won’t be back.
Waiting forever and
If I could give minus stars I would
Without question, in my 70 years playing golf I have seen slower play - every tee every fairway shot. It was so bad I will never play this course again

Very Pure greens
Excellent kept greens, very good staff. Fairways can be a bit rough but the price is excellent
