Eagle Chase Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of northern Union County, surrounded by nothing but acres of countryside and farmland. The secluded locale is ideal for golf, especially since it is conveniently situated less than an hour from Charlotte. The course tumbles across lush green hills and valleys, providing almost every hole with an elevated tee or green. The undulating layout definitely plays like a mountain golf course with even lies being hard to find and a few blind shots to contend with. Water hazards come into play on seven holes, including the first three and the 12th hole, an uphill par 3 that is one of the golf course's most difficult. In addition to the course, Eagle Chase G.C. also offers a driving range, practice bunker, and chipping and putting greens.

Greens had been aerated with no warning

The course is nice and in very good shape, but I think you pay for what you get here because Prices are pretty steep for a course that’s so far out in the country. It’s an hour drive for me so it’s borderline not worth it. Also I’m kind of upset that the greens were aerated and there was no notification or price discount before I purchased on golf now.

Don’t waste your time here

Besides the shape of the course being average and grandmas carpet for greens, the staff is extremely unprofessional. My friend and I were rammed by 2 teenage workers in a golf cart. They were speeding through the parking lot before T-boning us, nearly missing my friends leg then drove away laughing while we were left to assess our whiplash and the cart damage. When we informed management about the incident, they did nothing. Would not recommend this course if you don’t want to be unremorsefully struck by child golf staff and deal with incompetent management. Won’t be coming back.

Great condition. Challenging layout.

The course was in great condition. The greens were in perfect shape. Of course is fairly hilly and has some challenging holes, but it’s fun and will make you use most of the clubs in your bag.

slow and they don’t care

Teed off 30-40 min late due to a backup, we were playing at 9am. How is there a backup already?

"nothing we can do". the mongoloid GM has no idea what's going on. if you're greedy enough to space tee times 8 min apart then make it work.

Bumpy greens still recovering

The usually excellent greens were punched a short time ago and are still bumpy. Fairways and layout are excellent. Clubhouse and food service is below standard.

Great Course

Not expecting such a great course (let’s be honest) in the middle of farmland. Lovely woman behind the counter. Great practice area (large putting green and “grass” driving range).

I’m used to flat, coastal courses so this hilly 18 was a treat. Tee to green all in great shape. Would definitely play here again if in the area (50 min from downtown Charlotte).

My favorite course in and around Charlotte

I've reviewed this course before, so I'll keep this one brief. Eagle Chase has to be one of if not the best public course around Charlotte, There are several contenders for this title (Red Bridge, Rocky River, maybe even the Divide on a good day), but for my money, Eagle Chase is better than all of them. It is well maintained, consistent year-round, and is well priced. Add to that its unique topography, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better course nearby.

Consistent

Course is always in good shape. There appeared to be some recent infrastructure improvements on the course since I played here last year which was nice to see. Played 18 in a little over 3 hours thanks to the threat of rain keeping folks away. Really enjoyable round.
