Not worth the “value”
My buddy and I went here due to every golf course being booked at our desired tee time. Thought, it’s only $20 so we’ll suck it up and get some practice in. Waited 30 minutes to tee off, people wore whatever they wanted (ie cutoffs), and we’re generally hard to play behind. Could have just been a bad couple of groups in front too, but not worth the time for a sub par course. Hit the driving range instead.
Great greens fairways are bare hard and dusty!
Some of the best greens I’ve played on in the Charlotte area but the fairways need a lot of love!
Never will I ever play here again
Course was in less than favorable conditions, bare dirt fairways, small greens and that's not the worst part . This course in on several golf websites that set tee times, although when you call the course , they claim NOT to take tee times. Cost of this course is advertised between $20-$24 dollars , however , on the day that I played , their was an additional $12 charged , bringing the actual cost of playing this course to $36 , hence the reason I will never play this course again.
Great Day to Play
Great day to play with sunshine, light wind and good course conditions. Pace of play was excellent, no waiting and no one pushing my pace. Staff was friendly and helpful for being first time playing the course. Gave me tips about playing the course. Enjoyable time well spent on a beautiful day. Will play here again.
McAnless 1/19/20
I originally played here a couple weeks ago and the course was in ok shape. I played here again a couple weeks later because I wanted a cheap early morning round. The course was in much better shape. Being cold and early there were not too many people on the course therefore I was able to finish the round in 2 hr 40 min. I’d recommend it to someone looking to play early in the morning. Tee boxes and greens in fair condition for this time of year. For the rate, I’d go back again.
McAnless
The course is in decent condition for this time of year. Some of the were not up to par. The tee boxes need to be flattened. However, overall this is a good course to go to for the money or a good course to go out and practice with a couple shots. Pace of play was good and I finished in 2 and a half hours. I’d come back again!
Dependable
Fairways and tee boxes are in rough winter condition. Greens are in excellent shape except for 7. Rolling and receiving very well. Love the layout of this course. Most holes are straight away, but a few are shot shaping holes. Short from the white tees but the greens are small to make up for that. You have to be accurate on distance and aim control. Always good hot dogs and the most courteous and friendly staff.
Left some to be desired
Fairway grass was long and dry. Greens were unbearably slow. Patches of unsettled sod seemed to be placed on some fairways and on some greens. I remember it being much better when I played there earlier this year. I won’t give this place many more chances.
Outing
They had an outing that I was unaware of. Lucky I got around it. Three some of ladies refused to let me Play thru as a single.
Not a very good course
People that work there are rude. Each time we approached a green the mower guy would cut in front even after we hit approach shots or getting ready to hit approach shots. Course is not in very good shape and the greens tiny. Play some where else.....Corbin Hills, Crescent, Rolling Hills or the Warrior for a much better experience.
Better than ever
I think the course is in the best shape condition wise, that I've ever seen it. Course is short, but the greens are small, so you still have to be accurate with your approach shots. Greens hold now unlike they have in the past and roll pretty true. Great value too.
Good Value
This isn’t a an average course Nothing fancy but a great value and a goodbye place to play if you’re a beginner...Greens were in good shape and very quick ...Biggest knock on the club is that they greens are way to small ...
Course Review
I'm not a good golfer by no means. I shoot around high 90s. I play because it's fun and I enjoy being with friends and family while playing. With that being said I play different courses all the time to make things more interesting. I've played some pristine courses and played some club damaging courses as well. This course is somewhere in the middle for me. 1st time playing here. Course was confusing. Difficult to navigate hole to hole. I reccomend you play with someone who is familiar with the course layout. Course condition was above average. Some tee boxes fairways and greens were patchy. Maybe more than I would've liked but for the price I was good with it. This is a par 70 course with only 2 par 5s and a ton of par 4s. Fairways are narrow and all but 2 greens are very small. Green conditions were ok but patchy in some spots. They were consistant and true. Putting was fun at this course. All the greens were really close in speed. The club house is an old building but it's an old course too. The staff is great and super friendly. Pricing for rounds and products are reasonably priced. No driving range. So be ready to find your swing during your round. Small chipping area and putting green are available. Well those are my thoughts. Remember I'm a weekend warrior at best. I did have fun here. It didn't cost much and I left happy. Hope this review helps.
Greens are in great shape
Course was in very good shape , greens in excellent shape
Good day
This is kind of a fun course. The greens aren’t very big so you better dial-in your approach shots. It’s fairly short and some of the fairways are narrow which require well-placed tee shots. I like it for that reason because it keeps your attention. Most holes you can leave driver in the bag.
Disagree totally. In the area and for the rate name a better course
