Twin Oaks
Course was in good condition. I played 36 holes and ran out of gas but I called the club house and they came out 5-10 minutes later. Pace of play would help by spreading out starting holes.
Nice little course!
For the deals on golf now app you can beat it. Pretty nice course. I found it for just $10 with fees and taxes it was onli $14 to play and ride 18. Very good deal! I will be playing again soon.
One of the worst courses in the Charlotte area
This was our first, and last, trip out to this 'course'. What a joke. The tee boxes are uncut and are as thick as the rough. Hard to tell where the fairways begin and end. The greens are thick and lush, which is not a good thing. It is like putting on carpet. Such a waste of money. WAY overpriced @ $30. They could not pay me to go back and play that cow pasture. Steer clear of this poorly maintained piece of land.
Such Improvement
Course has improved so much in the last month its unbelievable.
Greens
Course favors a person who draws the ball. Some greens are in pretty bad shape.
Poor communication
The greens were horrible. I understand they have to make them worse to make them better but they should at least let paying customers know they are unplayable. Also the tee boxes need to be shaved down. They were so hairy I could barely find a spot to tee off from where the grass was lower than my teed ball. The course is fun to play when the conditions are right.
Good value for the money
Course was fairly wide open. Greens are small and some of them had been sanded. But, nice layout for a small course and you can tell the new management is trying to make it better.
First time
The course layout is easy to navigate and fun to play. Today all the greens were being punched and sanded so putting was a real treat. The fairways could use a good over seeding, but were overall good. The course is pretty open but has some pretty challenging holes. Great little course for the money and the ladies in the clubhouse were just super!
My dad and i where trying to play for cheap and came across a $10 hot deal and went with it. We had never seen or heard of the course before.
When we checked in they informed us the back side was closed and that explained the rate but for $10 it was cool with us. The greens on the first and second hole were awful at best and covered with sand. After that everything was pretty good. This is not a course that i would look to hold a tournament at but i would for sure go back for a friendly round.
Great price, still not worth it
We made a 7:30 tee time and when we showed up to the course at 7:00, there were about 6 cars parked in the street outside of a locked gate that led to the course. We parked, sat, and waited about 25 min until the pro shop employee showed up at 7:28.
Once he unlocked the gate, everyone went inside to pay at once and somehow we went from the first tee time to sitting behind 4 other groups on the first tee. He did not ask if we had a tee time or our names, just took our money and sent us to the first tee.
We figured while we waited the next 20-25 min to tee off we would go to the practice green. That was a mistake. It was covered in thick coarse sand and we were literally unable to putt on it.
After we waited to tee off, the first two greens and a couple others on the course has the same, thick coarse sand fully covering the greens. After we got to the third hole, the greens were in decent shape, minus a few of the back 9.
After we got going, we also realized the tee boxes, fairways, and rough were all the same type and cut of grass. It was like playing golf in my front yard for the entire course. No discernible difference in cut anywhere in the course.
Overall what we thought we were getting for $30 on a weekend was a great rate and had low expectations because of the good price. What we got was an experience that made the rate no where near worth it. I would not recommend this course to anyone. Pay the extra $15 and go to Larkin Golf Club down the road for much more value for your dollar.
My wife and I enjoyed our round of golf however the restrooms need a upgrade and the women’s bathroom door doesn’t lock.
I played by myself at 8:47 tee time, the front nine was empty got done at 10:15. When I made the 10th tee there was a full course in front of me. They didn’t tell me they were sending them out on the back in front of me. Luckily I wasn’t in a hurry, but it would have been nice to know. The course was in good shape for this time of the season, the tee boxes were hard and in rough shape. The greens are in pretty good shape except for a few that were a little patchy. The cart paths have some roots bulging up through them. Overall I will play this course again for the price. They are trying to improve the course according to some of the locals I talked to afterwards.
Better than most
First I didn’t have my glove and I was just going to buy one and they didn’t have one. The attendant gave me his glove without charge. Really nice people every time. Course was in good shape considering the amount of rain in the area. Holes 10-13 were cart path only but other than that good course. Will be back
