Expected it to be nicer
Course was in poor condition. Definitely not worth the money, even as a Hot deal and especially for the 30min drive we had to make.
Greens were very rough, and fairways an teeboxes in desperate need of mowing. Much like hitting it out of the rough.
Lady in proshop in desperate need of a personality makeover! Very rude an short when asked a question. Bathrooms dirty.
We will not return anytime soon.
Really good course, great value
Very wet fairways due to all the recent rain. But, they can't do anything about that. We still had a nice round & enjoyed it. 5th time playing this course & will definitely play in the future.
Good course - great value
4th time playing here. It's really a good course for the money. Not overly difficult & decent layout. The fairways & greens are always in good shape. I'll play here again.
There is value at Twin Oaks
This is not a fancy frilly place, but it is a good little course. Elevation changes and lots of doglegs make for a good game. The only negative thing we had to deal with was a sixsome, yes 6 in a group that slowed the entire course.
Decent course - great value
Good course for the money. Fairways in good shape. Greens were pretty good. My only gripe is no one monitors the pace of play. We got behind a five-some on the back 9...A FIVE-SOME! Four guys in carts & one guy walking. That should never happen. They finally let me play through on the 17th hole...what a nice gesture..(eye roll). But, overall had a pretty nice round.
Nice course - good layout - great value
First time playing here. Had a 7:30 tee time with my two sons. Nice layout. Fairways in good shape. Greens were a little slow & some weren't in the best of shape but overall they were OK. Friendly staff & a great price. We'll play here again.
Good hot deal course
Friendly staff, you can tail that management is really working hard to make improvements and make that a great course .
A scoring track!
If you hit the ball well you can really put a score on this course. Not long many holes very straight forward. Greens not very receptive so play it short and bounce it to the hole. Can't have enough spin.. Bermuda greens have not grown in yet... Greens were the biggest opportunity. Not very true and do not look that good. Not a bad track for the money.
What a difference
Course has come a long way since last year. Keep up the good work.
Twin Oaks
Course has been in poor shape for a couple years .Decided to give it a try again and found that it is under new ownership and management. The difference since last spring is unbelievable. I'm a senior golfer and this has been and is once again my favorite place to play.
HANGING BY A THREAD
Surrounded by a landfill this course has been around a long time. I used to play it because it was in decent shape for the cheap rates they charged. I hadn't played there in a long time and decided to try it out once again. The club house hasn't changed one bit in the last 25 to 30 years. The course definitely had though, as the greens were terrible as there were small weeds every couple of inches on all the greens which grew faster than the grass which led to impossible putting as the weeds were like bumpers on a bumper pool table. Sadly this course has fallen in to disrepair and I hate that it has. The course was always fun to play and affordable for golfers who can't afford 50 bucks to ride 18. I realize times are tough for golf courses as I have seen so many close their doors. I hope this one hangs in there. Just having good greens can make a lot of people overlook the fairway grass, the bunkers, cart paths etc.
Narrow, hilly, and hard pan conditions
Just don't have much good to say about this track. It's tight, hilly, and the clay made the ground feel like a stone which produced big bounces, balls running through fairways in to lush foliage only to be lost, and otherwise just bad turf conditions (thin lies, hard pan, winter kill, etc)
Ball Gone
Very narrow and confusing layout with blind holes. The fairway rough is ridiculously high and if you hit a few feet off your ball is lost which is extremely frustrating for a slightly errant tee shot. Spent more time looking for and not finding balls that were in bounds and didn't go in a hazard than any course in last 2 years. Constantly waiting for players in front looking for their balls. I almost hit other groups and was almost hit several times because the tracks are so close together. I live in Statesville and hope never to go back. Recommend other courses for a few dollars more and actually evens out for the cost of balls. Must says the greens were in excellent shape!
As someone that enjoys playing, but is still fairly new to the game. It is not a overly demanding course, but it is well maintained with great greens
The par 3's with the water hazards are tough. A few blind shots into the greens give you something to think about.
Fast Greens
Good course, enjoyed our first time there. Well maintained. Greens were extremely fast and a little hard to read at first.
overall good course
for the price and size the course is overall a good place to play. though the management say's they are leaving GolfNow which i cannot understand if it wasn't for GolfNow I may have never played it. the greens are the best feature they run great but are very very tricky with slope and speed. hope they stay on GolfNow I would play again for the price.
Good, treeline course and wide open fairways.
Great for the money. Well-maintained and wide open fairways with doglegs. A little bit of water on the par 3s and a few hidden shots but a good course to play for new golfer. A little challenging for the intermediate golfer. A good course for the middle to high handicappers.
Too many blind shots for the first timers
The course was in good condition for the time of the year. Greens were very fast and did not hold the ball well when hitting to them. If the course has a negative, it would be the blind shots that have to be taken. Overall had a great round.
Great course for the price!
Awesome staff, well kept, nice greens! This course is an awesome place to play! Came for the first time about a month ago and have been 5 more times since!
