Only got to play front 9 twice
Failed to mention the greens were punched the day of
This is a beautiful course that plays friendly to an average golfer.
The weather was terrible on our hour long drive to the course and still raining when we pulled in the lot. We went inside to see about the rain check policy, but as we had figured there was none due to having booked online through Golfnow, We had pretty much expected that and were not angry over our bad luck with the weather. We decided to go for it, got the cart keys, and headed for the truck to load up. By the time we got our shoes on and headed for the first tee, the rain had quit - and the golf gods allowed us 4 1/2 hours of great golf weather. The fairways had been recently aerated and the grass hasn't come in well yet, but the greens rolled true and we had an awesome time. We look forward to getting back there again this summer.
Great GPS System Senior Rates Good
Love the GPS system. Even I (age 68) can figure it out. Easy and love it. Senior rates are the best in area. Go on their site and select senior rate. $20 for 18 includes cart with GPS. My wife & I play a lot of courses. The tee boxes are designed so that they are fare to both male & female golfers when playing a game together.
Friendly staff make you feel welcome. Best course in the Greensboro area for the money.
enjoy my day off !!
There was sort of punching condition each greens. But it's O.K.
It's fun to play with nice sunshine and outlook.
I try to bring peers to tee at greensboronational coming season.
Thanks,
Great course for the money
Course is in good shape. Staff was very friendly and readily accommodated an adjustment in our tee time based on the addition of two players at the last minute. Can't be the deal through Golf Now for this course. Driving range was in poor shape.
Super layout
Excellent layout and courteous staff. Pace of play was fine and the course was in above average condition for late March. Will play again.
Beautiful course !!!
Upon arrival what you notice is the large cart mounted GPS systems . They have a nice clubhouse with a well stocked pro shop. Greens are a little rough but other than that this course is one of my favorites . It is challenging and beautiful .i def recommends this course to anyone . Location is the drawback I think it is actually in browns summit not Greensboro proper. But in my opinion worth the drive.
Great course at a great price!!!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. they took the time to show me how everything worked at the course and how to use the gps on the cart. ill be revisiting soon!
Great layout. with large greens
In good shape for Feb. Large greens make for some tough putts. Great Layout and the GPS in the carts do help alot
This course has nice features--challenging yet fair.
We played this course in early February so course conditions were not pristine. The course however played well. The target lines were generally readily seen, no blind shots. There were no "tricked" targets or greens. A good shot generally was rewarded and poor shots justly resulted. Even considering our play date, the greens were in decent shape. We discovered later that they are planning to reconstruct their greens in late May to update them to a new hybrid grass.
The fairways are all bermuda, so they were all dormant, which made finding your ball easy. I wouldn't say the coditions were pristine but I couldn't
There were very few people playing golf. The staff was very friendly. The greens were in excellent contion considering it was January. It is a very nice public course and I would definitely recommend it. I would say the golf course was a medium difficult course and that most weekend golfers would enjoy it.
Not a $40.00 course
The overall course is in good shape, the greens need some work as they are damaged in places. GPS was a great feature..but I dont like paying for it with the over priced food items at the grill.
Great layout, fast greens
Weather was a bit raw with winds but still a great experience. Ranks with the more famous Tom Fazio and R. T. Jones designs that i have played.
Great Price and friendly staff
Beautiful layout,, Tees and fairways are nice, Greens are great in 70 percent of play, but about 20-30 percent of the greens are bald spots where it is difficult to play through, Staff are all nice and cordial, and cost of $31 was very acceptable compared to all other courses in the Greensboro area, Starter allowed us to go early since it was chilly and the other twosomes were not there yet, and Ranger was always nice when he approached us. Thanks Golfnow.
Layout is beautiful. Lakes, old trees and beautiful homes add to it's serenity.
Love this course. Absolutely my favorite to play. It's wide open no doubt, the greens large. You are rewarded with good tee shots. The greens, as I've heard, are going to be redone in the spring. I can't wait, it will be pristine to say the least. Thanks to GolfNow.com, I got a great rate. Will be using GolfNow.com again.
Great layout and simply a beautiful course.
Depending on which set of tees you play from this course can be anywhere from moderately to extremely challenging. Not extremely tight, but on several holes woods come into play. Not a lot of water but again it comes into play on several holes. The greens took a beating this summer, but are coming back nicely. All in all a fun and very beautiful course to play.
Great carts and GPS
The course was in really good shape overall with the exception being the patchy greens. There was a fungus or some other problem with them. However, the areas that were not patchy were beautiful. The new owners are making a strong effort to bring this course back where it should be. The carts and GPS units are the best around. The only real issue was the patchy greens, all other areaas of the course were gorgeous!
Course in good shape.
Played the course many times and in good shape. Defnately noticed the new changes to the course due to new management.
Good, challenging golf course.
Course was in excellent shape except for the greens which were suffering from unavoidable damage due to heat. Noticeable improvements since the last time I played (over two years ago). Was told that more improvements are yet to come.
Good course to play.
Thinking man's golf course. Not long but thought needs to be utilized on many holes to score well. New GPS Golf Cart that automatically prohibits carts from fairway on some holes is a bit of a downer.
