No Driving Range…No Driving Range !
The starter had a bad attitude and didn’t provide any course knowledge. With four different 9’s you would think there would be a sizable putting green and driving range to warm up before a round. No driving range and a very small putting green which was a bummer. The staff inside were helpful and courteous. What ever you do don’t play the “Back A 9” as it’s a basic nine holes that wasn’t updated as the other three nines were. The Baldwin nine was great with some tough finishing holes.
So Much Better
Course is totally redone now that Metroparks has taken over. Also, Golf Advisor needs to update this as it is no longer the A or B course. Good day with good conditions albeit cool weather. Worst part was the starters. Even though they have 36 holes, when we made the turn they sent all groups down the same 9. It took over 3 hours to play the final 9 holes. Just a group of terrible ignorant golfers almost ruined the day. Pay attention and get a ranger out there.
Disappointed
Thought it would be as nice as the other metro park courses but it wasn’t. One of the three 9’s wasn’t even on my watches gps. Overbooked causing pace of play on pace of a 4.5 hr round.
Staff steps up to ensure good round
For the amount of play this course gets, you will be pleasantly surprise by its good condition. A fair price with some challenging holes from the gold on back tees. Most impressive was their rangers. There was a slow group backing up the entire front nine. Not only did they remove them and put them on another 9, they drove around and let all the groups behind know. The back nine played as quick as we could play. Great job by rangers!!!
Great metro parks course
Probably the #3 course behind Manakiki and Sleepy Hollow. Greens were a little slow, but still a great track for the $$
Quite a few improvements
Course has gotten significantly better over the past few years. Clean and nice greens.
Shaping up
Course is starting to wake up from winter and is showing signs of being a must play course as it was last year. Excellent condition through the year
Great course, pricey food
Course was awesome. Played Baldwin 9 and the course was well maintained and didn't seem rushed but the course was busy. Food was a bit pricey, $4 for a hot dog and handful of chips.
Teach your starters
This course is so much nicer now that the metroparks completed the renovation. There's still some thin spots in the rough, but this course was a burnt out mess for decades before that, so it's much better. Lots of new tee boxes, removed dumb bunkers, and cleared out a lot of unmowed areas.
The only complaint was with the groupings. This course has 36 holes, yet the starters sent 5 groups in a row down the same 9. When I was playing the 8th hole of the first nine, I could see a group on #1 of the second nine. When I got the #1 tee, that same group was still on #1. And they sent 4 more groups behind them. We played the front in just over 2 hours. It took 3 1/2 hours to play the back.
A decent day of golf.
The only negative was that non-fairway areas on most holes were pretty ratty.
