Hinckley Hills Golf Course

While there is still some work to be done in the sand traps ans some tee boxes, generally the course was very playable even after some wet weather we had two days prior. The roughs were being mowed the day I was there, so it would have made finding my errant drives easier to find, lol!

Conditions were rough. Greens very shagy. Weeds everywhere. Half the traps don’t have sand and has overgrowth through them. The course is a shell of what it once was.

Probably played this course 20 years ago, so hard to remember details. However this round was after a heavy rain and course was super wet and cart path only. And that’s where the adventure begins. Their cart paths are the worst I’ve ever played on. I had smoother rides in armored vehicles in Vietnam! But as a golf nut, I still enjoyed the golf.

The tea boxes were heavily messed up the greens weren’t that great but overall was a good course. I shot my best score ever at this course not too difficult not too easy. I would suggest to play there, especially for the cost. The cost is very reasonable.

Would not recommend, greens are not maintained, pace of play is non existent rushed the whole time.

My playing partner put it best when he said the greens look like “old green and brown boat carpet”. I’ve played at this course quite a bit in the last 20 years and this was definitely the worst it has looked when I’ve played there. Not only were the greens brown, they have a lot of thin spots or little cuts. I hope they can get it back to its former glory but it needs quite a bit of TLC

I’ve played this course for years and this round was pretty sad. The greens looked like old brown and green boat carpet, almost unplayable. The rest of the course was ok, but the greens made it almost pointless to keep score. The staff in the clubhouse was very nice, and everything was clean. Without the very good deal for 18 holes and cart from Golf Now, I would not play here.

Hole number 13 is totally ridiculous . Terrible hole design. Some tees and greens are dried out and poor condition.

Really good course if your not behind a very slow 4some.

Tough course, all hill but challenging. Greens are not in good shape. Fairways just ok and depends on hole. Rough always need cut at this course. The woman who is owner or manager is never pleasant but the young lady behind counter was very nice.

I said yes to recommending this course because you can usually get out but is never a first choice to play.

It seems they need maintenance workers to tend to course in a constant manner.

Apparently, they cross cut these greens within the past week or so …absolutely terrible to putt on. Had I known this was done would never have played the course… even when conditions are perfect, there are several holes that seem to be an afterthought at best.

Greens and bunkers are in ridiculously poor condition. Most bunkers are full of weeds and grass
