Briarwood Golf Course

Not only were the fairways burnt / dirt in about 40% or the fairways, greens barely touched and rolling at maybe a 5 on the stimp, but they must have been letting everyone out who walked up to the place and asked to play without a tee time. We attempted to get 9 in after work with a 620 slot, with 2 hours of light to spare, should have been plenty of time to get 9 in even if it took a little over two hours. Played decently quick for about 3 holes then we came to a par 5 which had a total of 5 groups on the hole. One group in front of us was waiting on the tee, one just teed off, another was in the short fairway, another in front of them longer down the hole, and another on the green. This resulted in about a 20-30 minute wait to tee off on that par 5. Safe to say we didn’t get 9 in and I don’t think you could pay me to play there again, let alone make me pay $32 for that piece of dirt. So many better courses in the area priced lower, and I will never be back.

This course is in horrible shape. I typically do not shame more budget friendly courses, but look to play somewhere else. Cart paths are a mess. Fairways have craters in them. Greens have burn marks and divots everywhere. Don’t play here.

Course has gone downhill. Incredibly poor maintenance, greens in terrible shape, virtually unable to drive on cart paths. Also would not honor the price that we signed up for on golf now.

Front 9 needs work. Cart paths, especially first few holes, are downright unusable. Greens were badly burned out in areas too. Nothing would hold, like chipping and approaching into a surface parking lot. Some concrete work needs done badly. Also no one was working as a starter - a beginner 2some went off, then another 2some, then two 3somes in a row. Ended up teeing off almost a half hour after my original tee time.

Back 9 was in great shape and it appeared one of the 2somes only played 9 as there was no one in front of us. If the front looked like this I would play as much as I could here.

Don’t even want to get into it. Terrible all the way around. Starter kid was cool. Wouldn’t play a free round here.

Greens are all diseased pretty bad. The track is nice overall but wouldn’t pay full price for this course.

I love Briarwood. I thought the course was great. I like that they are starting to repair the cart paths too. The staff is very welcoming and nice. I had a great experience and had so much fun! The environment was awesome and I ended up staying awhile at the bar.

Course is very beautiful. Cart path needs some repair. But overall very good looking course.

I played here for the first time and had a great experience. Fast greens and beautiful fairways. Good beer prices too.

I have never left a bad review for a course-until today. You can do a lot better in this area. Greens are bumpy and impossibly angled. Course is laid out poorly-you’re in danger around the tee boxes about 5 different times.

I have actually never written a review for a golf course before, but today’s experience will make me write them every time. People need to know when a course is truly a good place to play, and when a course is not somewhere to spend your hard earned money. I’ll keep this brief. The pro shop attendant took 20 minutes before he even came to assist myself or 6 other customers waiting. He then proceeded to charge myself and my playing partner $10 more than what was advertised online and agreed to over the phone. I wasn’t sure if we could get another tee time elsewhere today so I begrudgingly paid. I then called Hinckley hills, booked a tee time and had an amazing afternoon. When I asked for a refund at Briarwood before leaving to play Hinckley, the cashier said “I don’t know how to do that” Not only did I over pay for the round, but I also gave this course money that I work extremely hard for, to not even play a round of golf. I cannot comment on the conditions of the course. However, given the treatment myself and my playing partners, I highly recommend finding another course to play that treats their customers honestly and fairly. I wish you all the best of luck going into this upcoming 2024 season!

The course was in surprisingly good shape and the people were very nice. Planning my outing here in the summer!

This was the best golf course my group has played at for this time of the year. The weather has been no help but the maintenance staff has done an extremely good job keeping up on the conditions of the course. The staff inside is very accommodating. Great time!
