Front/Middle at Pleasant Hill Golf Course

The course was being repaired for drainage and major brush trimming. It is a beautiful piece of land and investing into the maintenance will make it more desirable. The fairways need a lot of work and the greens were slow. The cart paths are really bad and torn up, they will take a toll to the golf carts.

We had played at Pleasant Hill several years ago at an outing and forgot about it. We decide to try it because of the decent price for a Sunday morning and availability. My wife said it was a one-n-done.

With the slow pace of play and the brush cleared, ball hounds would have a hay day. I hope they make the necessary improvements.

If you're looking to play a cheap course this is it. Don't expect much . Fairways are pretty beat , greens are not much better ,the fringe is crab grass. Just hope you hit a spot what has grass to hit it off of your next shot.

The fairways are hard and brown, the greens are in terrible shape. People are just jumping around from hole to hole not following the course.

Would not recommend to anyone as this course is in poor condition …

Pleasant Hill has 27 holes, so if you play 18 you can usually mix and match (front, middle, and back nines), which is a nice feature. I played a couple times earlier in the year and the course was in good condition despite an unusually wet spring, but this time (mid-August) most of the fairways were in poor shape after a mix of rain/dry/rain/record-hot conditions - lots of bare and scorched patches, and much worse compared to previous years. Most of the greens (15 of the 18 we played) were in much better condition, actually pretty good. The upside is that the fairways are much firmer, so there was a lot more run on the ball (I easily reached most of the greens in regulation - for an 80-year-old like me that's a blessing). Sort of reminded me of Scottish links courses. I have also played another local course this year and the same weather-caused fairways deterioration has occurred there, so its current condition is not an indictment of Pleasant Hill. In contrast, two posh private (members only, and very expensive) courses close to where I live are still in pristine condition, so you get what you pay for. My wife and I finished 18 holes in a little over 3 hours, so pace of play was excellent.

If you can get it cheap & there’s no other Options, go for it. Needs some TLC, I had fun but course conditions weren’t the best by any means! If you like a modern club house, keep searching. There was no running water (for weeks). Not trying to put course down, just an honest review.

Solid course for the price and 3- nines makes for fast play

This is my second time playing this course with my son… Coming from Florida to Ohio pretty much anything is nice in this area… The grass was a little long for the fairways but other than that all around a good day.

Played solo and didn't have to wait on anyone. Warm and humid day, but the breeze made it nice. A few holes were difficult to find where the tee boxes were as they weren't marked, and some were not mowed. But overall, it was a fun course and I would play again.

Should be a great cheap course, definitely not twice as nice as some other courses but charge twice as much ..

This is a great course for an average golfer. Clubhouse seemed a little old, course wasn’t in the best shape but perfect for me and my dad especially for the price.

Greens looked like a par 3 tee box fairways were non existent played 5 holes and left wouldn't golf here for free if given the opportunity

The staff is friendly and welcoming and the course is set in a beautiful quiet location, nice wide fairways and a good challenge on every hole ; highly recommend

I played 18 holes with their deal for $24 on Tuesdays. The owners and employees were all super nice. The clubhouse is a bit dated but has balls, tees, food, drinks and more available. The course had a fun, challenging but fair layout but note, it is not USGA rated. In my opinion some of the greens could use some love as they are bare or damaged but then some are in great condition too. I felt they do a great job at mowing the course but some areas, even just off the fairway made it tough to find balls because of all the white clover so it could use some weed treatments. The pace of play was amazing as it was pretty sparse when I played. I think this is a fun course if you just go out, not take it serious, hit some balls with friends, get some practice and have a good time.
