Lake/River at Fowler's Mill Golf Course

Played a twilight 9 for my birthday with a friend. Course was wide open and pace of play was as good as it could be (pre covid style round). Course and greens were in phenomenal shape and the staff was excellent. Fowlers never disappoints.

I’ll start by saying I love this course and really enjoy the layout. However, I’ve been looking at weekend tee times lately, and they’ve been asking around $120 for morning rounds. Is it worth $120 right now? Unfortunately, I don’t think so.

I understand this course gets a ton of play, but the fairways need some work. Even after a week with plenty of rain, I’d say about 4–5 fairways had areas that were either burnt out, muddy, or in pretty rough shape.

On the positive side, the greens are perfect and most of the bunkers are in great condition. The exception is some of the fairway bunkers, especially on hole 8 on the Lakeside. It feels like some of those are being let go. There are so many rocks in them that I honestly wouldn’t want to hit a club out of them.

Overall, I still think this is a great golf course and I love playing here. The greens are excellent and there’s a lot to like about the course, but with the current fairway and bunker conditions, I personally don’t think it’s worth $120 for a weekend morning tee time.

$107 after tax for a good tee time on a weekend. Would be fine if they put money into the course but they don’t. You could even see the look on the pro shop guy who took our cards, he almost felt bad for us that we decided to pay for it. Greens are nice that’s about it. Fun layout but the fairways were brown / not taken care of / dirt in a lot of spots. For that price you expect a near pristine layout . Would rather play sleepy hollow, manakiki, pine hills, even big met which are all about half the price and much better condition. Disappointing and won’t be back anytime soon.

I play a lot, and this is by far THE best public course I play in northeast OH, in all categories. You need to experience it. Nuf said.

Played the entire round with absolutely no one on the course! weather was great although rain day before limited us to cart path only. Amazed no one was on this premier layout. Fairways and greens excellent shape traps were hit and miss.

Standard pricing at this course has gotten out of hand - $70 round with all the competition nearby is not justified. Play it if you can get a hot deal and a promo.

this was one of the best courses in OHIO and has been completely mismanaged. The bunkers are not playable (see pic), there are no ball washers and fairways are patchy. Play the metroparks courses at a fraction on the price.. Also, when I checked in they claimed that my rate did not include a cart!!!! backed down quickly. do not waste your time.
