Pickaway Country Club
About
Pickaway Country Club is known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Jack Kidwell, a local architect who designed this course and many others in Central Ohio, utilized his familiarity with the terrain but still kept each golf course distinct. Pickaway has an interesting layout that will test your shot-making abilities and strategy with narrow fairways lined with trees and small, fast greens that are difficult to read. Water hazards come into play on five holes and there are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is one particularly difficult par-5 hole that requires a 250-yard drive over a meandering creek. Although the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges, they are balanced by a number of wide-open fairways that have ample space.

perfect day
We hit this course at the perfect time. It was perfect weather and only a few people on the course. It was a great round. They have worked hard to bring this course back the drought last year really damaged this course. Greens were not bad, the rough was rough but I give these people a lot of credit all the hard work they have put into this course this Spring.
Golfing w/Grandson
First time playing the course and first time playing with Grandson this year. It was a nice typical country course. With my discount I paid a total of $34.15 for both of us. A good course but a great price. It was challenging due to our lack of play and practice, but it was a great day for being with him. I would be more than happy to meet my grandson again at this course (it's an hour's drive).
Tee boxes could use attention
Fairways and greens where well maintained.
Tee boxes need attention.
Roughs where a little tall.
Fun course.
Friendly staff,
Very reasonably priced course, great for beginners , length of course is great for average golfers. Hard to criticize fairways and greens this early . Staff is so friendly and helpful, The girl that was working was probably the most pleasant person I’ve ever came across at golf course.. She was always on the move. Great experience.
Sad :(
If tee boxes, fairways, cart paths, and bunkers were how you judged the condition/quality of a course - this one would say stay home. Growing up I played this course frequently. It’s sad to see how far downhill it has went. Will not be rushing to play here again.
A very good green fee thanks to you. That is mainly the reason I went to play it. We like to play different courses and this offers us discounts to do so. We we are retired and on a strict budget. Two of us golfed with a cart and 18 holes for $28 total thank you.
4 star rating???
Staff is friendly but slow. I don’t know if the course was ever in great condition but it wasn’t on Saturday. Was not worth $36 for 18.
Course has great potential
The course would much better if it was better maintained. I would like to blame the drought, however, it doesn't seem to have affected any of the other courses upkeep that I've been playing
Do not waste your time or money
Played this course a few times over the years and finally got back to it this season. I do not know what happened but I do not think I saw a single living piece of grass outside of the greens. Fairways were barren I thought I was golfing in the desert.
Greens were eh for the price. There is a drought in the area but other courses look like Augusta compared to this one.
Cow Pasture
This course has Tee boxes and greens in close proximity. It's horribly layed out, liked they packed this couse in. Play started off well but when I reahed hole 6, we were backed up 3 groups deep at the Tee box. After that, everyone was on top of everyone. After paying for 18 holes, I left after the 8th, because it was just chaos.
The staff were all very friendly so no complaints there.
The greens were mostly patchy, and filled with divots as others did not care to fix them. It just was a below average course all the way around. I won't be back.
Fire the maintenance clew
I rated Pickaway country club two stars because the fairway grass was brown and dead. The greens were the only good thing about the course they were green and lush. The traps were harder than hard hitting out of dirt, not sand, big rocks, and pebbles. I would not play this course ever again. I understand why it’s $35 on a Saturday.
Some Better Some Worse
Haven’t play here since spring. I was glad to see they have started getting rid of all the dead trees. I hope they still get rid of the stumps too. I also noticed they got some fresh sand in the traps but they still need to get edges/sides of the sand traps cleaned up. The greens were burned up as were fairways. They need to get water on the course more.
