Pickaway Country Club
About
Pickaway Country Club is known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Jack Kidwell, a local architect who designed this course and many others in Central Ohio, utilized his familiarity with the terrain but still kept each golf course distinct. Pickaway has an interesting layout that will test your shot-making abilities and strategy with narrow fairways lined with trees and small, fast greens that are difficult to read. Water hazards come into play on five holes and there are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is one particularly difficult par-5 hole that requires a 250-yard drive over a meandering creek. Although the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges, they are balanced by a number of wide-open fairways that have ample space.

Cow Pasture
This course has Tee boxes and greens in close proximity. It's horribly layed out, liked they packed this couse in. Play started off well but when I reahed hole 6, we were backed up 3 groups deep at the Tee box. After that, everyone was on top of everyone. After paying for 18 holes, I left after the 8th, because it was just chaos.
The staff were all very friendly so no complaints there.
The greens were mostly patchy, and filled with divots as others did not care to fix them. It just was a below average course all the way around. I won't be back.
Fire the maintenance clew
I rated Pickaway country club two stars because the fairway grass was brown and dead. The greens were the only good thing about the course they were green and lush. The traps were harder than hard hitting out of dirt, not sand, big rocks, and pebbles. I would not play this course ever again. I understand why it’s $35 on a Saturday.
Some Better Some Worse
Haven’t play here since spring. I was glad to see they have started getting rid of all the dead trees. I hope they still get rid of the stumps too. I also noticed they got some fresh sand in the traps but they still need to get edges/sides of the sand traps cleaned up. The greens were burned up as were fairways. They need to get water on the course more.
Downhill
This Place use to be one of my favorites but now it’s gone downhill, management as well as course conditions.
Could use some water
Understood that rain has been scarce lately but over the last 6 weeks the course has really dried out, most tee boxes have little grass, several greens have dead areas to putt around. I like the layout and when it is in good shape it is a good value. In this condition just average.
Love the course.
It's been a tough year for all courses with very little rain. Nothing on the course for me. Hoping for rain soon to help the course out. Enjoy playing there.
A good time for a date golfing with my wife. Course is okay for what you pay. I try to encourage new players to the game of golf. That said, with this course somewhat out of the way, it lends itself to having all types/skill level to play. However, we were slowed by several groups who obviously did not understand the rules or etiquette of the game. Would have been nice to have a ranger come out to move them along. Overall, a good time.
Challenging layout.
The back tees were not very long, but the lay out still leaves plenty of room for a challenge. Greens were a little slow, but very receptive. Fairways are in good shape considering how dry this entire area has been for the last few months.
Horrible
Booked online, arrived at course to see a tournament going on. Website had full bookings available. Turned around and left
Great weather day in Circleville
The course is extremely dry regardless of the maintenance crews efforts to water. The traps are very well maintained with the exception of enough sand in them. This presents a problem attempting to get enough club beneath the ball and hitting hard pan very quickly. You have to be knowledgeable where you are when playing here; there are possibly 3 instances where there are two tee boxes at the same location. Not a big deal but make sure which hole you are playing.
Dry Conditions
The course needs water. It is dried out. The greens are slow because they can’t be mowed or they will burn up. I will hold off playing here until we get a couple of days of good rain.
