Some Tee boxes in disarray it otherwise in good shape
Interesting layout though with nice elevations on some holes
Played early in morning. Not crowded. Only wish the course could be maintained NOT during the middle of my round
Would play again if I'm in the area
Into the woods!
This course is in very good condition. The greens are green. Very scenic and quiet, except for the carts!
"Pace of Play is not Important"
"Pace of play is important to us." This is posted in every cart, but it's hard to believe that statement is true when you wait 20 minutes past your tee time to start and during the wait the Starter admits the course is backed up because of so many walk-ons.
I genuinely enjoy playing this course, however, their regard for pace of play has gotten progressively worse to the point where their 4.5 hour round pace consistently becomes 6 hours or more. I'll probably play here again, but only when I can commit the entire day to a round of golf.
Course conditions have declind
I have not played Mine Brook Spence the new owners took, over. Cart paths are in horrible condition with pot holes everywhere. Steps up to and down to tee areas are dangerous with rotted wood and uneven walking paths. Tee conditions remind me of whenthe course was called The Nook. (Very bad) majority of the greens were in fair condition . Overall I will not be return to play the course again. Was not what it use to be under the Arnold Palmer Group. They were a class act and gave a carp about the course.
Keep it in the Fairways
Played the Black tees to get to thhe 6200 yard length. There are plenty of holes, though, with sloped and hilly fairways. This behooves you to keep it in the fairways. The starters and rangers are among the friendliest there are. The greens were true and the fairways in good shape. Appropriately, a beverage cart made the rounds on a steamy day.
Great round
Pace of play was okay, we weren't in any rush and were a twosome. Caught up to a threesome but we had a great time. Course is pretty easy generally speaking, but has a couple difficult holes. Definitely would recommend, and am going to go back. Great value for the price.
Sporty course
Minebrook is a sporty track through the woods. It is not the length that challenges but the varying lies and tree lined fairway. Over all it is a fun layout that puts a premium on keeping it out of the woods and hitting smallish green. I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the greenside bunkers. Compared to area courses, MineBrook has done a great job maintaining them. My 2Some (Became a 3Some on hole 14) got around in 3.5 hours with a ranger in sight. I have a feeling that this course will attract a lot of play from less skilled golfers that may have an adverse effect of pace of play....YMMV.
Slow play
There was no starter or ranger. The pace of play was brutal, and to add to it when I made the turn I had 2 foursomes jump in front of me out of no where. Probably due to there not being any starter
Steadily Improving and definitely on the right track
I typically play Minebrook 6 or so times each year. The improvements made by the new management / ownership team are noticeable. Tee boxes are being taken care of in a way not seen there in previous years. The sand trap conditions are as good as any course in the area, and our group plays a lot of different courses. It's also good to see that management is pricing the golf in line with the course conditions, promoting specials (get on their mailing list!) and really working to make the round an enjoyable experience.
Fairways are in good shape, and the rough has been allowed to grow out a bit - a welcome improvement. Plenty of elevation changes and need for accurate shots to stay out of the trees.
My compliments to the management team, and keep pushing the improvements.
for the end of august
I believe the course was in great shape tor the time of year, good sand in most bunkers and all around improvement with new management
