Chippewa Golf Club
About
Established in 1926, Chippewa Golf Club in Curtice is one of the area's oldest courses. The course was designed by Toledo native Harold Weber, who was a four-time Ohio amateur champion and the city's first famous golfer. The layout has retained its traditional design and feel characterized by tree-lined fairways and small greens framed by strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the bunkers, there are two creeks that wind along the length of the golf course, coming into play on 15 holes. Golfers should be prepared for some tricky carries on the water holes. Though there are some holes that will make you think, Chippewa is a classic layout that players of all skill levels can enjoy. There are five sets of tees to make it even more approachable.

One of my regulars
I play here 5-10 times a season. It is in good condition. The rough is a little high but fairways and especially the greens are in real good shape. Greens rolling very nice. I am working on getting better off the tee with the driver so this course is good for that. The course has its share of trees and water but is open enough to be forgiving when working on the driver. We got a hot deal so paid just over $16 each so a very good deal. Overall it's a challenging course and in great shape...
Must Have Been Beginners Day
Really a slow round behind people who likely weren't aware of course etiquette that would allow faster players to go through. I'm not a very good golfer but I don't waste time.
For Toledo: Solid
A course that is trying really hard to be nice. Gotta hand it to em, they've done everything they can to create fun topography in flat Toledo. Fun course, cheap, nice carts.
Great course for casual golf
November golf (Golfnow.com special). Course condition and layout was good (no tight fairways). Cups needed to be changed. Par 3s were the best challenge. Would play again. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Chippewa Golf Club
Very nice electric golf carts, nice cart paths, very well layout of the course and course still sucks. The greens were extremely dry and they recently just verticut them so that didn't help out the trueness of them at all. Fairways were longer than expected. I am a college golfer who played the round with my cousin who is also a college golfer. We have played many nice courses in our college careers and this did not compete with any of them. When I checked out the website, the course looked pretty nice so I thought let's give it a try but it was the total opposite when we got there. If they were to keep up with the greens and keep the fairways at a tighter length then this course would definitely compete with a lot of courses around the area.
Diamond in the rough.
I really knew nothing about this course when I booked a tee time. All I knew was I wanted to play it because it was close to my father's house. I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled into the parking lot. I saw a very well-established course built in 1926. The fairways were plush although they needed cut. Greens were cut a little too short but still rolled true and fast. The rough was nice and thick. The clubhouse was well kept and staff was very friendly. I would recommend this course to everyone.
Golf Review
The course was in decent shape and other golfers on course were nice enough to let me play through. I played along with another single golfer on the previous day and learned a lot.
Solid Course and can play at a great pace
Friendly staff and understanding golfers. Twosomes let through to play without delay. Course condition was good even with lack of rain.
Very Well Maintained
Chippewa just seems to get better and better. A very well maintained golf course from tee to green with fantastic bunkers and newer electric carts. It is rare to see so many positive things occurring at a public golf course.
Not very long but worth the drive.
I like playing here to work on my wedge game. The course is not very long but you get to hit different clubs of the tee. Pace of play was awesome, play 18 in less than 2 hours. The par 3's are long, most around 200 yards. Par 5's are reachable in two if you bomb it off the tee but each green is guarded by a creek. The overall condition is good and worth the hour drive.
Good scoreing course
Greens in great condition for this time of tear nice and quick no leaves, grass freshly cut cut nice fairways , my hats off to the grounds crew, give them a raise
COURSE IN GOOD SHAPE
I like to play at Chippewa, 10 hole cross a creek, which always comes into play, most par fives you need to lay up, or you will find the creek
Pleasant surprise!
This course has plenty of character, lots of water hazards, and the greens were awesome - fast and true - when we played.
Good course
Well designed and kept. Has some good hills and challenging holes.
Great Greens
We are not great golfers but, we rate a course by the greens. When par is 72 and since 36 of those strokes and set as puts on the greens, greens are very important. These greens were great. Also when you use every club in your bag, the course is worth the trip.
Thanks again to the excellent staff.
Interesting course
Best course in Ottawa County...worth the trip..play it often
Windy Afternoon
Course plays really nice, challenges you to hit some different clubs. Wind was really blowing while we were there making some holes feel much longer. Playing from the tips makes the par 3's very challenging especially for shorter hitters.
Easy to navigate, great staff, adequate F&B, affordable.
Ruined game
The course is decent but I have had far too many rude encounters with golfers at this course. Before I even hit my first tee shot a group was on the tee box with me and commenting on how I was playing alone. Play was held up because of a 5some of teenagers and this ruined my golf outing.
Nice course for the money.
Course overhaul was in good shape. Grounds were very hard so had to adjust for the bounce. Had a great time. Good value.
