Chippewa Golf Club
About
Established in 1926, Chippewa Golf Club in Curtice is one of the area's oldest courses. The course was designed by Toledo native Harold Weber, who was a four-time Ohio amateur champion and the city's first famous golfer. The layout has retained its traditional design and feel characterized by tree-lined fairways and small greens framed by strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the bunkers, there are two creeks that wind along the length of the golf course, coming into play on 15 holes. Golfers should be prepared for some tricky carries on the water holes. Though there are some holes that will make you think, Chippewa is a classic layout that players of all skill levels can enjoy. There are five sets of tees to make it even more approachable.

Great value and course in overall good condition
Picked up a hot deal, 18 holes with cart for less than $30, great value! I will say the marshal was not to be found and unfortunately there was a group of three that absolutely killed the pace of play, I was single and they refused to let me play through ( that’s not on the course, that’s just poor golf manners on their part) but again with nobody around from the course to ask them to pick up the pace it led to me playing an almost 5 hour round. There are a couple holes that is still needing some time but the course overall is nice, pretty challenging, and fun.
Great place to play
I really like playing this course. They are currently staff has always been very helpful. The only issue this season is hole 11 that is in the process of renovating. I highly recommend this course.
Love it here
It’s a 30 minute drive for me but always worth it. Tee time at 3:30 allowed us to miss most of the heavy traffic on the course. Played nine with my son and his buddy then finished the 18 solo. We let a twosome play through and we’re never crowded again after that.
Course and greens are in good shape with the exception of 11 which was closed for course repairs. I didn’t mind though. Played 12 two times to make up for it as there was no one behind me for the rest of the evening. Tripled a par 5 but also managed a birdie and 3 straight pars. Shot an 87 and felt darn good about it.
Fun day
The course is in great shape considering all of the spring rain. We had a great time. Highly recommend
Improvements noted... thank you!
I golfed with a friend this past weekend. The sun was shining. The temperatures were great! But the wind was crazy! All that said, we noted improvements: new tee box markers, trees removed, and new ones planted. Greens were in better shape, cart paths improved or added on some holes. The old bridge on 11 was replaced and widened and a sprinkler system added on that fairway. All good signs to the golfer who wants to continue to come out! Thank you!
