Delaware Golf Club
About
Delaware Golf Club sprawls across rolling countryside that lends an idyllic and secluded setting. Donald Ross designed the original nine holes in 1922 and they were later joined by a second nine designed by Michael Hurzdan in 1998. The layout meanders through wooded valleys and ravines. The rolling fairways are fairly wide but they are lined with mature trees and bunkers heavily guard the small, undulating greens. There are also water hazards that come into play on a number of holes. Delaware Golf Club's second hole is notably challenging, it is arguably the toughest hole on the front nine. This par-4 requires not only accuracy in order to avoid the ravine on the left but also distance to carry the lake and remain in the angled fairway. Golfers will be faced with one of the most difficult putts on the golf course if their approach finds the wrong side of the green.

Best greens you can play in Ohio.
A must to play if you are in the area. White tees are easy but the Blue tees will test a low HDC golfer.
U.S. Kids Preview
My 13-year old grandson and I played the course, his first time and my second time. He will be playing in a tournament the following week at Delaware Golf Course and our time together helped him to understand the nature of the course. I will be his caddie for the tournament and I am sure I can observed my grandson's strategy to play the course well.
Great course
Great layout! I thought the course was in great shape. The back nine was very challenging.
DGC must play in c-bus!!!
Friendly staff! Great layout! The course was in excellent shape
Satisfied
I liked the course, however, some holes were not marked
Clearly. Overall, with price it was excellent and I would come back again.
Great Course Just Outside of I-270
We got a GolfNow deal for $30 each for golf and cart. Really a great price for this amazing course. We played Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, and thanks to all of the parties (Graduation/Memorial Day/Weddings/etc.) there was nobody else on the course. We teed off around 3:00pm and so nobody else the entire time.
The first 9 is by far the better half of this course. The first time I was weaving in-and-out of neighborhood streets to play a golf course, but it made it very interesting and fun to briefly chat with the locals outside partying in their yards as we drove by in the golf cart. The fairways and the greens were in perfect condition. I'm not sure how you have healthy grass cut so short, but everything was moving quickly. The greens made this course quite difficult because the gentlest of putts sent the ball rolling for a good while.
The back 9 was also fun, but nothing like the first. For a few holes there is no cart path that we could find, maybe we just missed it. The houses of the neighborhood disappear and it feels like you're in the woods and wilderness (with US-23 popping out of nowhere).
Overall we had a most amazing day of golf, and we will be back.
Hidden Gem
Amazing!!!!! Hidden Gem!!!! Will definitely play again in the near future. Grea course layout.
Great Course, Incredible Pace of Play
Course is always fun. Not crazy challenging but has some creative holes and can be narrow in places.
It was a Thursday afternoon but totally unheard of in Central Ohio to play in 3 1/2 hours. So NICE.
Challenging course
This is the second time I played this course. It is challenging and requires accuracy both on and off the greens. I believe the back nine holes are the Donald Ross holes and they are quite difficult - the front nine is more open
Rough Greens
Greens are still rough & sandy from areation. Course was packed.
Would have been nice to know
There was a junior tournament on the course that day that really slowed play. It took almost 5 hours to play. Not a big deal but the greens had also been aerated. It would have been nice to know these before booking the tee time. The staff was apologetic and pleasant.
Best shape in town
Fairways and greens mowed, tee boxes out. Course was in great shape , 90 degree cart rules ! Great course and great value. Best course I've played in columbus so far this year. It is early !
This course is already in good shape
For playing March 11th, Deleware was already in good shape. unkers were raked and overall course was rather green for this time of year. Don't think we could of picked a course to play in better shape rite now.
New favorite course!
I can't believe I haven't played this Donald Ross (back 9) design since he is my favorite golf course designer. The other holes (roughly front 9) were designed by Hurdzan and Fuzzy Zoeller and they are excellent on their own, bit the real masterpiece are those by Ross. If you have ever played Pinehurst 1,2,3 or Scioto or Columbus CC you can see the design cues from each course, little movement of dirt using the tract as is. Small turtleback greens. Awesome use of the natural flow of the land. The course was also in pristine condition, though a little wet in the low spots. Check out Wikipedia and see the courses designed by Ross in Ohio, there are quite a few on GolfNow. Next year I am playing them all!!!
A very nice course in November
I have played quite a few courses in Oct. and Nov. this year and I have to say this is the best course I played in these two months.
The course was gorgeous with the autumn leaves turning bright orange and yellow. What a view within Columbus area and the attendant was superfriendly
Played this course for first time. The course was right next to HW 23 and even though it was early November, the course was well maintained and even though it is inevitable to see leaves on some fairways due to weather condition. The view was gorgeous and the each course was very challenging. Will definitely come back and special thanks for super friendly attendant.
very challenging course for all handicaps.
I would rate this course a 10 out of 10. The fairways and greens are in the top 10 public courses in ohio. The greens always roll true and are quick. It would be better if the people that play the course would fix there ball marks, but it still is good.
Justin does a great job .
Great greens
I love the lay out, the greens are very fast, and roll true. Three fairways had just been spiked and were muddy, but hey, you have to do it some time in the fall. Very nice course.
Course is well kept, challenging and enjoyaqble.
Really enjoyed the variety in the course with slopes, long and short fairways, scenery and condition of the greens. Some fairways were close to homes which makes a novice nervous. Enjoyed the course for my first visit.
Lightning fast greens.
This course is very challenging and is in pristine condition,Have played there lots of times and would again in a heartbeat.
