About
Delaware Golf Club sprawls across rolling countryside that lends an idyllic and secluded setting. Donald Ross designed the original nine holes in 1922 and they were later joined by a second nine designed by Michael Hurzdan in 1998. The layout meanders through wooded valleys and ravines. The rolling fairways are fairly wide but they are lined with mature trees and bunkers heavily guard the small, undulating greens. There are also water hazards that come into play on a number of holes. Delaware Golf Club's second hole is notably challenging, it is arguably the toughest hole on the front nine. This par-4 requires not only accuracy in order to avoid the ravine on the left but also distance to carry the lake and remain in the angled fairway. Golfers will be faced with one of the most difficult putts on the golf course if their approach finds the wrong side of the green.

Nice Track
Course was in great shape. Front 9 had an excellent challenging layout, back nine (older original section) had some odd holes, which made certain shots difficult when not knowing the course. Greens were true and fast. I would recommend and will play again when in the Columbus area.
Horrible round
First T-box 8 groups waiting to T-off ok busy. Play the first 4 holes in an hour and a half. Decided to skip 5-9 and play the back 9 maybe just not their day. Played 3 more holes cart died tried to call the office to get a new kart no answer 20 mins had to walk back to the office to get a new cart. Decided just not to temp fate called it a day. Asked for my money back. The guy at the desk was new could not do a refund paid 140.00 for 18 holes played 7 of 18 they offered me 9 holes. After some back and fourth and bickering the gave me 2 18 hole rain checks. I’ll try again (because of the rain checks) but this place is WAY OVER PRICED FOR THAT SERVICE.

Pace of play
Have played here many times, but this was the first round this year. Course was in very good shape for the high number of rounds it gets per year however it took me almost 3 hours to play nine holes and I quit after nine will go again but definitely will not try to play on the weekends. They used to have Rangers out there keeping everyone on time, but it does not appear. That’s an option this year really disappointed because the back nine is a very classic Donald Ross.

Is this a standard practice?
We played a round on June 19th which is a federal holiday. We paid the holiday rate which I expected. I wished a member of the staff a happy Wednesday and holiday. After a brief discussion, the staff member indicated that he was NOT being paid the holiday rate. Is it fair to charge the customer the holiday rate and not pass on the money to the employees?
On another note, the ranger kept the pace of play moving at a decent pace. It would also be helpful if you had scorecards in the pro shop.
Course was solid but wait was very bad
I played the course on a Sunday afternoon. The quality and layout was good, but the tee times were so backed up that at one point we pulled up to the group in front of us waiting on the group in front of them to tee off. I ended up leaving after 14 holes it was taking so long. I’d hope this was just a one off issue, but it was bad.
