About
High Point Golf Club is a public course in Montague that has been around since 1966. The course has since undergone major renovations but it still retains the original character of the design. The layout is routed between two massive, sparkling lakes. You won't find any parallel holes on this golf course, it provides plenty of space so you don't have to worry about errant drives. High Point is seemingly mild, but don't be fooled by the traditional 6,783-yard layout. There is a surprising amount of bite to this golf course. Each hole presents a unique challenge but what they have in common are the rolling fairways that are subtly contoured. They leave for some difficult and creative approaches. In addition to the golf course, High Point also has a driving range available as well as putting and chipping greens.

Great Location
This course is great for the money. It is always well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good value and great layout
This is a beautiful course with a good layout. My only negative comment is the pace of play on a weekend. I wish more golfers played, “ready golf”. But i understand how hard it is for a course manager.
Never Again
I've played here many times this year but today will be the last. Pathetically slow pace. Over 20 minutes per hole. Got to the tenth tee to find two new groups in front of us waiting to tee off. Inexcusable. I'll play anywhere else from now on.
Great course with problem players
I have played this course many times. I love the layout, except the 18th hole. I played on July 2. After the first two holes I was behind a twosome. I expected to wait after each shot. I did. The twosome in front of me were disrespectful of the game and the course. One time i overheard a foulmouthed tirade on a cell phone. The same jerk after a poor shot threw his club twenty yards ahead of himself. There was no one policing this. I am glad they never invited me to play with them. They ruined an otherwise besutiful day
Amazing bang for your buck.
Course is on the up! From being almost shut down, this course has done an excellent job reviving itself. You can see the progress. Greens are always in great shape, can see the updates in the bridges and tee boxes. Always a fun and challenging course
Tough course
The course can be tough if you don’t hit fairways. You will use every club in your bag and lots of water. The staff is very friendly.
Very Challenging Layout
I was looking forward to playing High Point as I had heard it is a really good but challenging course. I certainly wasn't disappointed. The warning about bringing extra balls should be heeded. There are a lot of forced carries and other water hazards. There are also tight fairways. This is definitely not a "grip it and rip it" course. The course requires the use of every club and will find any fault in your game. The greens were difficult but fair. I will definitely be playing this course again, after a few range sessions.
High point golf
This course is outstanding. Super challenging. Bring extra extra balls . But that’s what makes it fun . You have to think on every hole . It’s not about taking out your driver every hole . I used all different clubs on the first shot of holes . Manicured fairways & greens . If your gonna play in NJ I recommend High Point
Deceptive tee times
The course was closed for the day yet you elected to have tee times between 7 and 8…PM. I guess I should’ve looked closer, but this was a last minute gametime decision that morning and I guess I just assumed and that the seven to 8 o’clock teetimes were for the morning… Considering the course is closed at 7 PM. We ended up scrambling to find another course that morning, and on top of it I wasted an eight dollar booking fee. I guess I’m a bit annoyed and disappointed that you would actually have 7 o’clock and 8 o’clock PM Teetimes on a course that closes at seven… Not to mention in an area where it gets dark by 830, and nobody in their right mind would book a time that late. Bush league…
