About
High Point Golf Club is a public course in Montague that has been around since 1966. The course has since undergone major renovations but it still retains the original character of the design. The layout is routed between two massive, sparkling lakes. You won't find any parallel holes on this golf course, it provides plenty of space so you don't have to worry about errant drives. High Point is seemingly mild, but don't be fooled by the traditional 6,783-yard layout. There is a surprising amount of bite to this golf course. Each hole presents a unique challenge but what they have in common are the rolling fairways that are subtly contoured. They leave for some difficult and creative approaches. In addition to the golf course, High Point also has a driving range available as well as putting and chipping greens.

Very Challenging Layout
I was looking forward to playing High Point as I had heard it is a really good but challenging course. I certainly wasn't disappointed. The warning about bringing extra balls should be heeded. There are a lot of forced carries and other water hazards. There are also tight fairways. This is definitely not a "grip it and rip it" course. The course requires the use of every club and will find any fault in your game. The greens were difficult but fair. I will definitely be playing this course again, after a few range sessions.
High point golf
This course is outstanding. Super challenging. Bring extra extra balls . But that’s what makes it fun . You have to think on every hole . It’s not about taking out your driver every hole . I used all different clubs on the first shot of holes . Manicured fairways & greens . If your gonna play in NJ I recommend High Point
Deceptive tee times
The course was closed for the day yet you elected to have tee times between 7 and 8…PM. I guess I should’ve looked closer, but this was a last minute gametime decision that morning and I guess I just assumed and that the seven to 8 o’clock teetimes were for the morning… Considering the course is closed at 7 PM. We ended up scrambling to find another course that morning, and on top of it I wasted an eight dollar booking fee. I guess I’m a bit annoyed and disappointed that you would actually have 7 o’clock and 8 o’clock PM Teetimes on a course that closes at seven… Not to mention in an area where it gets dark by 830, and nobody in their right mind would book a time that late. Bush league…
Very GOOD DEAL !
For WHAT YOU GET you just CAN'T BEAT IT ! Always a TOUGH TEST and the condition of the course was REALLY GOOD for this time of year . I'll be back SOON !
A good early season option
Unfortunately, the range was not open yet because this early in the season, I like to warm up with a basket. Still, as usual, the course was in good shape for this time of the year. Greens especially.

Maintenance
Course is challenging and well designed; however, needs more care. Be prepared for many lost balls due to lack of maintenance. Also very muddy and unplayable in some areas. Fall is not ideal for this course!
Great course
One of my favorite courses I’ve been playing this course for over 30 years the condition is fantastic it was a little wet because of the rain obviously they have no control of that but this course actually drains better than most. The entire staff is extremely friendly, and while the restaurant just basically shut for the season apparently still open for outings the restaurant is normally fantastic with a huge outside patio overlooking a pool and the lake. My final comment is about the person running the course Brett who I’ve known for most of the 30 years that I’ve been playing the course, he is as friendly and professional as the day that I met him.
Great course, will definitely be back!!!!!!
