High Point Golf Club
About
High Point Golf Club is a public course in Montague that has been around since 1966. The course has since undergone major renovations but it still retains the original character of the design. The layout is routed between two massive, sparkling lakes. You won't find any parallel holes on this golf course, it provides plenty of space so you don't have to worry about errant drives. High Point is seemingly mild, but don't be fooled by the traditional 6,783-yard layout. There is a surprising amount of bite to this golf course. Each hole presents a unique challenge but what they have in common are the rolling fairways that are subtly contoured. They leave for some difficult and creative approaches. In addition to the golf course, High Point also has a driving range available as well as putting and chipping greens.

Greens were the best I’ve played this year
I’ve played highpoint on and off for years. It’s a terrific layout and very challenging. The par threes are as tough as they come as a collection. Par 4s are an interesting mix of short and long Holes but all challenging. It definitely favors a draw shot over all. For whatever reason there have been times where the course is pretty rough and hard maybe it has to do with irrigation. The fairways were still very hard but the greens and bunkers were terrific. The greens were the best I’ve played this year anywhere. Fast and true. This time of the year is also very beautiful in northern New Jersey.
Great value!
Had a great time playing high point Saturday. Course in wonderful shape and the hospitality of the staff is great!
First timer
Very challenging golf course. Lots of hidden challenges for the first time playing. We can’t wait to play again. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The course was in very good shape considering the weather this year, although the cart paths were in poor condition. We also did not like driving on the road between some holes
a very nice course
they have put money into this course and its in good shape
great course
greens & fairways are in good shape and staff is good.
A good early season destination
The greens were in very good shape for this time of the year; fairways not yet grown in but understandable. Staff, as always, was pleasant.
Great
Good time. Crowded but pace of play was fine. Hot deal for 21$. Can’t beat.
Worth the drive
My cousin Bob and I drove down from Binghamton, chasing the sun. The course was lightly trafficked and we got out ahead of our tee time. The staff was friendly and a member gave us a few pointers before we headed out. The first hole is a rather intimidating par 5, with a forced carry over water. Once we got past that, the second hole proved to be difficult to find, despite the member having given us directions. Once we found the tee, the rest of the front 9 was intuitive. The course has a lot of water and a fair number of forced carries. There are also quite a few doglegs and elevation changes. The course is a par 73, with five par 5's. That said, the premium is on shot placement, v.s. distance. The course was in good shape, for the time of year and the greens were surprisingly quick. The pro shop has the basics and there is a restaurant attached, though we didn't have time to check it out. We would definitely return.
Great Course
Course always in great condition, working on course all the time to keep it in top notch shape, truly one of the best values in northern New Jersey Look forward to playing again in the near future.
Great course
On slow days this course is great. Can take your time and just enjoy it. Today was a different story. Very busy and because of that I felt rushed and could not enjoy myself as much. Staff is great though and would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
a very nice course
it was hot but not to hot for golf met 3 nice players i was paired with and made for a nice day
Tough water holes
14 is a tough par 3 over the water with the 2 tier green
16 is over the water with a small landing area . Pretty tight . Course is fun to play and the price is right
Fairways are in good shape. Greens are pristine. They are constantly working on & improving the course.
Best greens so far
Greens were perfect. I played Ballyowen Skyview cascades wild turkey hickory hills and stony ford. Highpoint by far had best greens. Fairways were also good. I went after a rainstorm so a little wet
