Fairways are mostly mud or dying grass. Bunkers are overgrown and the greens are pocketed with holes. It was so muddy we drove closer to the green than normal. The owner came and yelled at us For driving close to the green and the person I was golfing with took exception to the owner yelling at us. They yelled at each other, which was most unprofessional if the guy was the owner. This course is out in the country and they need to have someone maintain the course is needed. There are many golf courses to choose from don’t make the mistake of going there.

I will never play this course again. No grass all weeds and mud

I schedule weekly golf outings for a group of 22 golfers which plays at least 18 Dayton area courses. Jamaica Run is by far the worst conditioned course we've played this year and is now a course we will not return to until we are convinced the owner and management take being in the golf course business seriously. Our group played there on 9/1/20 and agreed not to return until unacceptable course conditions were corrected. I played there again on 9/20/20 with some different friends because one of them had purchased discount coupons he had to use or lose his money. The greens had been aerated after my 9/1 play leaving holes large enough to stick a broom handle in. Jamaica Run, you can do much better than you're doing!!

Love these people, and love the course layout and experience. That's why I'm so disappointed it's in such poor shape currently. Not sure if COVID created a financial hardship, or if things just got away from them. Truly hoping they can find a way to bring it back into acceptable shape so it's worth the money again.

This time of the year they have aerated the greens which need another layer of sand on them. The tea boxes were so hard you couldn’t get it to you and no one had bothered to blow any leaves off the greens. But we like to play the course and it was fun to get out. All parties moved around the course at a perfect speed

Wow, JR has went down hill fast. Tee boxes are hard as a rock or off to the side in weeds. Fairways are weed filled, no repaired divots. Some idiot was spraying chemicals on the 12th fairway that had a strong odor. Eventually we caught up to a 5 some that was holding up the front 9 yet no rangers anywhere to be found. Seems Jamaica Run has given up. I see the pre-made response to all the other 1 star reviews. Its a shame because years ago this was a very nice course. PS, your bunkers are weed filled and haven't be raked in days or weeks. Its ok to rake them to start the day or end of day if you want your customers to know you care. Makes you wonder if your really cleaning the carts or not!

I was hitting on the the 3rd hole and as soon as I made contact with the ball, I was sprayed by what seemed to be a "sprinkler malfunction", I was absolutely drenched. Also, I don't think I have ever played on a course with such horrible greens. Felt like every time I would hit it on the green, it would be like ice shattering because of how solid the green is. The greens made me feel like I was putting on a put-put course.

It took me and a friend 5 hours to play 18 holes. No ranger to enforce pace of play. Course is in overall terrible shape. Multiple patches with no grass in every fairway and weeds growing in the bunkers. Was also scolded by an old pro shop attendant for driving too close to the 9th green because they “want to keep the chipping pristine.” Definitely do not recommend.

I should have heeded the other reviews but I decided to try it myself. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE. It took us over 5 hours and 15 minutes to play 18. Called the clubhouse they didn't care. Course conditions were fair at best. Tee boxes were dog poop and there were plenty of green side chips that played off hard dirt with no grass. Mickey mouse holes lead to bad backups and I didn't not see a ranger all day. Players in front and behind us were hitting 3 and 4 tee balls sometimes. I will not be going back.

We were scheduled out at 1115 am did not tee off until noon. My number 1 issue is the guy that checked us in .Made it a point to say cart path only due to wet course. Which I have no issue with. But there was none from the golf course out on the course . There was a 4 some of ladies playing 2 groups in front of us. They single handley had us back up 2 and 3 groups on the 3rd 4th and 5th hole. On the 6th hole the group in front of us got by them . Not sure if they let them thru or they skipped a hole to get in front of them. I say this because that's what we had to do. They were playing in a best ball scramble and they had no idea how to keep the game moving . They all 4 would stand and talk and laugh and joke then walk to the ball each one took 2 to 3 mins to hit their ball . The one was a beginner and one was trying to teach her how to play. I dont blame these ladies I blame the golf course. You worry about your sorry grounds yet you have no concern for your customers. Like I said we had to skip a hole to get in front of them. Took over 5.5 hrs to play 18 holes. I would also like to poi t out that the greens were in such bad shape putting and chipping was nothing but luck. Big chunks of mud and large divots not repaired. I dont reccomend anyone every play here for more than 15.00.
