Jamaica Run Golf Club

This course is starting to look better. The new superintendent took over last year and the course was beginning to show signs of neglect. They have worked on the irrigation system which will help keep it looking green longer in the dry months. they have removed many dead trees, filled in some barren and damaged spots. They are working on the sand traps and they look better than the last 2 years. The fees ar pretty much the same this year as last. they have purchased some newer and more reliable carts and are trying to find more at a reasonable rate. Still friendly as ever but plan to add staff for starters and monitor the condition of the returning carts for damage. Too much mischief last year left many damaged w/o accountability. The staff is monitoring cart and course usage to try and cut down on abuse so it will stay in good condition all year long. Good golf course for the price.

Staff needs to manage teetime for single golfers. Combine them! Make foursome! We let 4 individuals pass through separately and r this slowed us down and we waited each time and this upset the other players. Otherwise, the rating would have been much higher.

Course was quite wet, but it had recently rained. Greens and tee boxes were in good condition. The course layout was fair and the greens had plenty of challenge. I enjoyed the holes on the back 9 that incorporated the large hill.

JR offers a fair conditioned reasonably priced public course outside of Dayton.

My most recent visit to this course was late in the season. Staff were very friendly, the price was good, the pace of play was good and there were good refreshments available at the turn. With it being near the end of the season, there was a lot of work being done on the golf course and that it to be expected this time of you. I had a very good

experience.

Not what it used to be. Bunkers are mostly dirt and grass and the green's have alot of dead spots of turf from disease im guessing. The course needs some attention before i will return.

Fairways are mostly mud or dying grass. Bunkers are overgrown and the greens are pocketed with holes. It was so muddy we drove closer to the green than normal. The owner came and yelled at us For driving close to the green and the person I was golfing with took exception to the owner yelling at us. They yelled at each other, which was most unprofessional if the guy was the owner. This course is out in the country and they need to have someone maintain the course is needed. There are many golf courses to choose from don’t make the mistake of going there.

I will never play this course again. No grass all weeds and mud

I schedule weekly golf outings for a group of 22 golfers which plays at least 18 Dayton area courses. Jamaica Run is by far the worst conditioned course we've played this year and is now a course we will not return to until we are convinced the owner and management take being in the golf course business seriously. Our group played there on 9/1/20 and agreed not to return until unacceptable course conditions were corrected. I played there again on 9/20/20 with some different friends because one of them had purchased discount coupons he had to use or lose his money. The greens had been aerated after my 9/1 play leaving holes large enough to stick a broom handle in. Jamaica Run, you can do much better than you're doing!!

Love these people, and love the course layout and experience. That's why I'm so disappointed it's in such poor shape currently. Not sure if COVID created a financial hardship, or if things just got away from them. Truly hoping they can find a way to bring it back into acceptable shape so it's worth the money again.

This time of the year they have aerated the greens which need another layer of sand on them. The tea boxes were so hard you couldn’t get it to you and no one had bothered to blow any leaves off the greens. But we like to play the course and it was fun to get out. All parties moved around the course at a perfect speed

Wow, JR has went down hill fast. Tee boxes are hard as a rock or off to the side in weeds. Fairways are weed filled, no repaired divots. Some idiot was spraying chemicals on the 12th fairway that had a strong odor. Eventually we caught up to a 5 some that was holding up the front 9 yet no rangers anywhere to be found. Seems Jamaica Run has given up. I see the pre-made response to all the other 1 star reviews. Its a shame because years ago this was a very nice course. PS, your bunkers are weed filled and haven't be raked in days or weeks. Its ok to rake them to start the day or end of day if you want your customers to know you care. Makes you wonder if your really cleaning the carts or not!
