Jamaica Run Golf Club

I was hitting on the the 3rd hole and as soon as I made contact with the ball, I was sprayed by what seemed to be a "sprinkler malfunction", I was absolutely drenched. Also, I don't think I have ever played on a course with such horrible greens. Felt like every time I would hit it on the green, it would be like ice shattering because of how solid the green is. The greens made me feel like I was putting on a put-put course.

It took me and a friend 5 hours to play 18 holes. No ranger to enforce pace of play. Course is in overall terrible shape. Multiple patches with no grass in every fairway and weeds growing in the bunkers. Was also scolded by an old pro shop attendant for driving too close to the 9th green because they “want to keep the chipping pristine.” Definitely do not recommend.

I should have heeded the other reviews but I decided to try it myself. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE. It took us over 5 hours and 15 minutes to play 18. Called the clubhouse they didn't care. Course conditions were fair at best. Tee boxes were dog poop and there were plenty of green side chips that played off hard dirt with no grass. Mickey mouse holes lead to bad backups and I didn't not see a ranger all day. Players in front and behind us were hitting 3 and 4 tee balls sometimes. I will not be going back.

We were scheduled out at 1115 am did not tee off until noon. My number 1 issue is the guy that checked us in .Made it a point to say cart path only due to wet course. Which I have no issue with. But there was none from the golf course out on the course . There was a 4 some of ladies playing 2 groups in front of us. They single handley had us back up 2 and 3 groups on the 3rd 4th and 5th hole. On the 6th hole the group in front of us got by them . Not sure if they let them thru or they skipped a hole to get in front of them. I say this because that's what we had to do. They were playing in a best ball scramble and they had no idea how to keep the game moving . They all 4 would stand and talk and laugh and joke then walk to the ball each one took 2 to 3 mins to hit their ball . The one was a beginner and one was trying to teach her how to play. I dont blame these ladies I blame the golf course. You worry about your sorry grounds yet you have no concern for your customers. Like I said we had to skip a hole to get in front of them. Took over 5.5 hrs to play 18 holes. I would also like to poi t out that the greens were in such bad shape putting and chipping was nothing but luck. Big chunks of mud and large divots not repaired. I dont reccomend anyone every play here for more than 15.00.

A bad day. We paid an extra $10 for separate carts then the battery died on one at the 16th hole. Also we had sprinklers going off while we were playing on at least 7 or 8 of the holes. Had to work around them. I was not happy about that.

This course was amazing back in the nineties! Now it’s making a come back to those days. Slowly but surely the management and staff are working hard to get this course back in shape. The 5 par 3’s and 5’s gives an opportunity to get pars or better and some of the Pat 4’s can be scoring holes as well. Course definitely makes you put your thinking hat on to strategize where and when to attack and when to play conservatively.

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. Course is very quirky. It’s not obvious where the hole is from the tee box on quite a few holes nor how far you should hit it. The course was in OK shape. Greens were so-so. Not a lot of yardage markers on course. Pace of play was really good though.

I liked the course, the back 9 was much better maintained than the front 9. People were quite friendly, the pace of play was good, if anything my buddy and I were the ones holding up others (though we had them join us and it was great). The course had a lot of yellow, the tee boxes were confusing in that sometimes the white tees were in patches of rough while a perfectly fine tee box was available just uphill. The clubhouse restroom was old and smelled like it doesn't get cleaned a ton, but with COVID-19 that's all the time I spent in there. So it's nothing fancy, but the course plays and I'd be happy to come back at some point.

What a beautiful day and course!!!! Everything is well maintained, course is open for the most part, greens were maintained well..wish more people would fix their divots on the green, but overall maintained well considering. We’ll be back out soon!

The Good-Friendly staff, good course layout, small greens and reasonable price.

The Bad- The greens were as hard as concrete. There are no sprinklers around greens only fairway and tee box. The golf carts look like they are from the 1970's.

Had a good time. Always do at this course. The people are courteous layout is beautiful
