Jamaica Run Golf Club
About
Jamaica Run Golf Club offers one of the most challenging layouts in the Miami Valley. The difficult greens provide most of the trouble. They are small and hard to hit and on many holes they are elevated above the fairway, making it hard to play a run-up shot. The bentgrass fairways are spacious and thankfully more forgiving, but they are bordered by thick rough. Water hazards come into play on several holes. There is even one hole that crosses the meandering creek that runs through the golf course twice. The par-5 18th provides a memorable finish, requiring a tee shot past a large pond to a fairway that sits well below the pond. Finding the right club to use and a good spot to hit are nearly impossible.

Great Round
Played with my 21 year old daughter and her boyfriend for her 1st time on a par 72 course and we had a great time. It was the perfect course for her to get some experience and learn about things like pace of play. It is a nice course to play a relaxing round, we didn't feel rushed and we weren't overwhelmed with it being too difficult. Plus we saved over $10.00 each by using Golf Now. Thanks.
Good condition
The course was in good shape. Just a few little spots here and there. Greens tho were excellent.
Rocj Hard Greens
Greens would not hold a shot that bounced. Quite a few cracked ground places on the course. Bunkers, tho, were nice and had the correct amount of sand. Need some new rakes, tho. Tee boxes were good not great. Bent grass is challenging enough but needed more grooming. All in all it was a good first time experience.
Jamaica Run
Cost of play on golf now was 29$ which is a pretty fair price for any golf course. The course is fairly easy to drive but the greens are smaller. The fairways were nice, the rough was trimmed, the greens had a lot of unprepared divots making putting harder and less presentable, and the bunkers were like rock. Overall the course wasn't that bad, the ball did not stick as all the ground was firm, could be just the end of July and hot weather. Food was fairly priced and they have rangers to speed pace of play. I think under 30$ it is a decent place, but if you can get another course for under 30$ play it. I'll try to play the course once a year, but no severely negative reviews here...
Jamaica Run is worth the drive
My 1st time playing here - really liked the course! Thank goodness I was paired up with a twosome that played there often, otherwise I'd have been lost. A lot of blind shots - which are fine as long as you know where and how far to take them.
Totally worth the money
I have played this course every year since it opened in 1989. Right now, it is in as good of shape as it ever has been. The course itself is not overly challenging but it has some tricky holes. I would recommend that anyone who has never played it or anyone who hasn't played it in a few to years to go play. Kudos to the golf course staff for the shape the course is in.
Great Course
Great course, loved playing here. Layout is great.
First time there. Will return
As a first timer here, several of the holes were difficult to navigate without having a layout of the course on the score card. Aside from that it was a fun challenging course that was in very nice condition.
family outing
In town to see family played with older brother and 2 friends.had a great time playing this course for first time will definitely will play it again
No upkeep
Piles of grass just off the fairways, tons of dandilions makes it hard to find your ball. Better not miss the fairways
Good value
I played this course early in the year so conditions were not favorable however greens were in good condition and the course gets more challenging every year as it matures
Jamaica run
Good course early conditionssome water standing on course due to heavy rain
Good condition for March!
We play Jamaica Run often, because it's on Golf Now. Staff is jovial and friendly. Starter keeps things moving and the conditions are always decent. It's not Shaker Run, but it's not $75 either....played 18 in 3-1/2 hours.
Don't see why people complain about play length
My wife and I played Saturday morning at 8am. It was chilly and windy, with the 13th hole adding SLEET to the experience.
Neither of us plays for anything but fun, and we had plenty of fun. While the course wasn't empty, it certainly wasn't packed either. We've been there a few times and never had to wait so long as to be a problem.
Definitely challenging for golfers like us, but it's a GAME. Go have fun at it and quit worrying about how long it takes!
We'll be back.
Unispired Layout in Poor Condition
The course is relatively short and flat. The greens were very bumpy at a reasonable speed. The tees had weeds and was generally beat up, especially the par threes. The fairways had damage areas, some were roped off, some were not. The exception was 18, a par five over a pond to a blind fairway.
Good course for the price
Very nice course, fairways and greens were in above average condition, course layout was good, Par 5's were challenging with dog legs on 4 of them making you use irons off the tee boxes. Would definitely go back and play again.
Old Friend
Have played hear several times a year ever since it open. Fairways and greens were in good shape. The club house and other parts are a little tried and old, but still fun to play.
this course has some good features
Liked this course!!! has some good holes, will go back and play
took almost 4 hrs to play 9 holes because of slow play !!
It took 4 hrs to play 9 holes, we left at turn because slow people turned too. Was totally disgusted by time with left from lack of movement on the course would recommend anybody golf here ! Never saw anybody try to speed up the play!
Some good Some bad
Jamaica Run is an interesting place. As others have said, the pace is very slow. About half of the holes are very very easy (just straight par 4's) and the other half are pretty tough (200 yards to carry a creek then a 90 degree dogleg for another 250 yards). Overall it is a fine place to play, but I will probably not be back as there are better course for the same price.
