Jamaica Run Golf Club
About
Jamaica Run Golf Club offers one of the most challenging layouts in the Miami Valley. The difficult greens provide most of the trouble. They are small and hard to hit and on many holes they are elevated above the fairway, making it hard to play a run-up shot. The bentgrass fairways are spacious and thankfully more forgiving, but they are bordered by thick rough. Water hazards come into play on several holes. There is even one hole that crosses the meandering creek that runs through the golf course twice. The par-5 18th provides a memorable finish, requiring a tee shot past a large pond to a fairway that sits well below the pond. Finding the right club to use and a good spot to hit are nearly impossible.

good Saturday morning rates
Good Saturday morning rates....course in really good shape.
not the best bunkers to hit out of..greens in good shape.and course has character, more so on the back nine
No Sunday Beer!
Had a great round. The course is in good condition and reasonably priced. Unfortunately they don't serve beer on Sunday and we didn't know this. You can bring your own so that would have been great and a big plus.
Fun Course
We enjoyed the course. We would play it again. We also liked the challenge of hole #18.
Good bang for your buck
Nice course, great pricing, but be ready for the worlds slowest round.
Pace of play not good
The staff should have monitored the pace of play and conduct on the course closer. Ino one was able to play thru . 4 domes aying slow had entire course jammed up 4.5 hours for two some way to long. may play there again but would not be my first choice .
Good Local GC
It can be tricky for first timers but we play here a lot. Only issues I've seen is pace of play there but there was zero issue with it today. They have been known to pack them in and then it is no fun. It was in good shape and fairways were perfect. Greens were fair and had some heavy use from weekend but everyone does. I've always enjoyed Jamaica Run. My wife would like to see them build real tee-boxes on the forward tees as they now have them in the fairway.
Great value but needs some minor improvements
I played 18 on Sunday and enjoyed the round. Course is challenging but not to difficult. Greens were in nice shape and well watered. I will go back to play again as the price was only $17, but I would suggest putting a map on the scorecard and fixing the tee signs. Sometimes I wasn't sure where to go and a course layout is always helpful. The tee signs and water boxes could use some fresh paint. Also, the 18th hole is a blind shot and a distance to landing areas would be very helpful. Grounds crew does an excellent job!
Good course for the $
Course was fine. Only suggestions would be: keep tee boxes in better shape and mow the first and second cut of rough more. The first cut was easily 3-4" long. Overall I had a good time playing this course. Staff very friendly.
A Good Day
Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Course held up well despite heavy shower. Interesting layout but not overly challenging with some severe doglegs and a few forced carries or layups. Good condition typical of spring, but rough was not severe. Be sure to look for big balls teed up on brick pillars at gate; it's easy to drive by.
Great staff and course for an enjoyable round
Dayton area gem. Friendly staff and well kept course. Only negative was people not repairing divots !
Great value.
It is a very good course and I have enjoyed playing it. Only problem is that they pack in the tee times so that the pace of play is excruciatingly slow.
Great Course with Friendly Staff
Jamaica Run is a great golf experience for the money. The course conditions have always been up to par when I've played and the staff in the clubhouse are always friendly. Will be back soon.
Never come here!
I played high school golf here for four years and had the same opinion of this place: awful. It's been a few years so I wanted to go out and give it another try. The place was even more run down! Even though I was now a paying customer, the staff was just as rude and no one does their job. At one point, there were 7 groups on two holes. The rangers are useless and the clientele is not exemplary. Avoid this place at all costs!

Bunker Conditions Poor
The tees, greens, fairways and rough were in good shape, but the bunkers were ragged (uncut edges and weeds) and the sand was very course...even small rocks in some. But it is an inexpensive course and wide open so you can play your foul balls. It has some great challenges.
Ok Once
I'm sure this place was nice 20yrs ago. But not anymore. Fairways & greens were fine. Rough was ankle deep with leftover clippings strewn about. So finding a ball was as close to needle in a haystack as you get.
Carts were garbage. Tee boxes poor. Signage poor if it was even there.
Fairways & greens were fine. But everything else below average. All the little things being neglected added up & turned what could be a nice course into below average.
great cousre
Played course a couple times. I love going there. Always friendly staff and the couse is in good condition
This course was great for the price
The course itself overall was in good shape. They could have cut the rough area's a little shorter. The tee boxes could use a little bit of work but overall they are not bad. The greens where in great shape. Some of the holes are missing the signs that tell you what hole you are on and the hole lay out with yardage information. The score cards lack this info as well.
Fun Course
I really like this course. It is tough but not impossible. Nice elevation changes and reasonable challenges for the average golfer. It was really windy when we played so that did make some of the longer holes more difficult.
Great time!
Course was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and polite. The pace for 18 holes was great. We had a foursome with carts and didn't have anyone behind or in front of us so we were able to take our time and enjoy the round.
this has some tough holes and I love the 18th hole
The course is wide open. It has great dog legs. That will test you. The par 5s are long.
