Get what you pay for...
Staff has always been very nice.
Course has somehow gone downhill every time I've been here.
Fairways and rough are basically the same.
"Greens" and I use that term very loosely because there was more brown than green... let's just say to go putt in your back yard and that's about the experience you'll have putting here.
Layout isn't bad and the people there golfing all seemed to keep it moving or let people pass through when necessary so it wasn't an all around bad day but u won't be spending anymore money to play here.
First time last time
Fairways had more clover ten grass. Green were like putting on thick shape carpet. There is no way the owners of this course would ever play there. Nice lay out if they would fix Fairways and greens.
Greens = Brillo pads
Their greens are always spongy but ok to putt on. Last week they were absolutely dead and brown in many areas and crispy even where it was green grass. One hole even had mushrooms growing on it. Between the two of us not one putt rolled straight and many bounced across the surface.
Granted we only paid $17 for 18 holes but the conditions of the greens made it not worth even that price. The rest of the course was ok, at least to say it was what you would expect for $17.
The Run
What could be a very nice course has been reduced to cow pasture where the greens are non existent, the fairways are covered in dandelions and the course is generally in a state of abandon. Such a shame. It’s like paying $37 to go to a driving range with your own balls and a cart. That’s all it’s good for.
Trash.
Course is in terrible condition, greens are terrible, fairways are not cut. They don't seem to put any money into taking care of the Course. Should be sold to people who care for the game.
Worst course in Ohio
Tee boxes were in the middle of the uncut fairways and the greens were like putting on a shag rug. Course has clearly never been taking care of. The $28 I paid for 18 was $20 more than what it should have cost.
Deplorable Course Conditions
My friends and I drove 45 minutes to play here. This was our first time at the course. The conditions of the course were deplorable. There were high grass and weeds everywhere. I couldn’t even tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. The greens were also tore up. It was a sad experience. We actually decided not to finish playing because the conditions were so bad. I will not be returning here. The young lady at the clubhouse was very hospitable and made us some good food so I will note that.
Poor conditions
Fair ways weren’t mowed, putting greens had huge chunks missing
Double Bogey Pace and Course Conditions
If you are 120+ and just out for a good time this course is for you. Beer is cheap.
Anybody else who enjoys a 4 hour round,
do not go here.
Grass is tall and there are piles of grass on top of the rough, course not really kept up, no ranger to control pace of play.
Great bang for your buck
For $18 plus fees for 18 holes at 10:30am it was great. Really can’t find cheaper golf anywhere else. Course was practically empty as well, I played as a subtle and had no problem with running into anybody, the one group I did catch up to was respectful and let me play through. If you’re looking for cheap golf on a pretty well maintained course, this is it.
Use a coupon!!
I am very thankful that Coupert found a coupon for this course. It saved me $25 for 18 holes. If I did not have that coupon, my rating probably would have been lower because the value for the money paid would not be good.
I am a relatively avid golfer, and this course reminded me of a course many years ago in Solon, OH that was considered "The Cow Pasture". I picked Pheasant Run because it was half way between us and our good friends who we played with. The greens and roughs played as if they only cut them at the beginning of the week. One of the greens on the front 9 (which is all we ended up playing) was half dead grass.
If we had played all 18, it might have been worth what we paid.
On a positive note, the beverages offered are a great price! And the staff was very friendly.
