The Players Club at Foxfire Golf Club
About
Foxfire Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf, the Foxfire Course and the Players Club Course. The Players Club was added in 1993.The layout is a deft combination of traditional American golf and traditional British links design that provides the perfect complement to the original. The golf course is the more challenging of the two, but not by much. The layout features narrow fairways lined with trees and water hazards on eight holes. There are three particularly tricky carries over water. Strategically placed bunkers and contoured mounding also treacherously lurk by the greensides. The par-4 16th hole is the course's signature. This demanding hole plays uphill through trees to a green that is guarded by five bunkers. The most memorable hole though, might be the par-5 eighth, which features the longest sand bunker in the Midwest.

Tee Times run way behind
I was really excited to play this course and was considering a membership for next year. When I arrived, the pro shop said everything was running on time. We went to first tee to find four groups waiting to take the tee box. We finally stated 35 minutes after our tee time. The entire round was terribly slow, which is fine for Saturday but this was extra slow. Every bunker had standing water and was unplayable. Also, the group behind us on the front was hitting into us on every fairway and green and thought they were somehow playing with us. Luckily we let them pass us at the turn. All-in-all, it is safe to say that I will NEVER play this course again!
Good, but tough, course
The course has a cool layout and was in very good condition. The pace of play was a little slow, but that is to be expected during the middle of the day on Saturday. The copious amounts of water and sand traps, along with fairly narrow fairways, makes for a challenging round of golf for anyone who isn't consistently accurate. I would definitely recommend the course and will look forward to playing it again.
Be on your game
A gem just south of Columbus. For the money this course can't be beat , if you're looking to play a great layout give this course a try
Top 10 Columbus Courses
I've been to Foxfire 5 times so far, and every one I have had a great time. The course is challenging, but not too difficult. The place is kept in great condition, and has some of the best greens in the Columbus area.
Some areas can get mucky with heavy rain, but what course doesn't?
Slow Play Hurts
Day turned ugly right from the start. On beautiful morning, there was about 20 minute delay in starting, no explanation other than lost of golfers. Starter was not managing the first teed very well. Then slow play commenced right from the first hole. Waited on every shot. Figured out by about 5th hole that group two in front of us was very slow. They were about a hole behind the group in front of them by the sixth hole. Tried to get ranger at half way house but never showed up. 4 hr round took 5.5 hrs. Other golfers went by us on 17th tee saying they were done due to slow play. Need rangers on the course to speed up play. Not likely to return soon.
Players Club - good course, bad traps
Fairways were in great shape. Most greens were excellent. There were no bad greens -- none torn up or with bare spots. The sand traps were the terrible: no sand, some were down to the hardpan. Some large traps had only one rake.
Too slow to enjoy
This golf course is challenging, fun, and in great condition. However, I had a 1022 tee time and due to delay did not tee off until 1105. The round was completed at 415. The golf was great the pace was horrendous. There was no explanation for slow play and no ranger. We did see some course employees but they seemed content with our pace. I'd really like to golf here again and I reccomend this course to others, but not during peak hours.
Gotta hit your driver straight
This was a great course. Very well conditioned. It's a very difficult course with a lot of tight fairways and quick, undulating green. We only payed $20 and it was well worth it.
I forgot about this gem.
Course was in great condition. The bunkers had a mix of fine dirt and clay sand. Greens were fantastic. I wish I played this course more. Holes 14, 15, & 16 are some of the hardest holes in Central Ohio!
Difficult, narrow, challenge
This was my 3rd time visiting family on the south side of Columbus and playing the Player's Club while doing so. The course was in good condition. Fairways were cut low, rough was grown in nicely, and the greens were rolling very quickly. If you want a narrow challenge, 14,15,16 will be all you can handle. 20 yard wide back to back par 5's with hanging trees making it more narrow and then a massive uphill long narrow par 4. Good luck. Score well early in the round and take your medicine on the tougher holes. Stay below the hole or putts will be brutal and almost nonmakeable. Carts are gas and slightly older, cart paths need repaved in many spots along the course but playing conditions were good.
Excellent first time
Friendly staff, great course conditions, facilities were fine. Course not too tough but some great holes that will challenge you.
Superb greens!
I would've given this course 5 stars, but the bunkers didn't have sand, they had very fine dirt mixed with clay based sand....not very good to hit out of. Course is awesome though. Back 9 is difficult which slowrd the pace of play.
Nice Course
This is a nice course. Was extremely crowded but pace of play was overall good and only had to wait a few holes. Huge back up on 9 and not really sure why? Could of been players stopping at the Half Way House. Back 9 ihas longer holes which made for a chaaleenge time. Enjoyed playing there and would recommend to others.
Good couse
Course it was good to have been clean and maintenance. In addition, staff is also good, I was able to comfortably play.
Great Course!
I thought the course was in great condition and I am looking forward to playing there soon again!
Players Club May 17 2015
Always enjoy playing at Players Club at Foxfire, well established great layout. Holes#'s14 through 16, I believe are the three toughest holes strung together anywhere.
Had to keep carts on path because unfortunately very wet in spots from recent rains, especially the sand traps and parts of the cart path were ponded over. Still got done in under four hours.
Very challenging, worth playing
Course was in good shape even though it has rained the day and night before. Really good layout and plenty of course from the tips. Highly recommended.
Awesome course
This course is awesome. Fairways are like carpet and greens are smooth. Beginner golfers need to take a couple dozen balls with them if they're going to play this course because it's challenging and there's a lot of water. I got paired with a couple guys that weren't beginners and they were both out of balls by #16. Pace of play was a little slow as it is with most courses on a Saturday. This course is normally 50$ for 18 and cart on weekends and it's worth it to serious golfers that want to play a quality course, so anytime there's a hot deal on golfnow for 30$ or less you have to go play it. The Foxfire course at the same location is pretty nice also and much cheaper, it's more suited for beginner level golfers.
Course has potential
A fun layout. Requires a lot of different shots in the bag. Unfortunately, when I played, the course lacked water; the greens were extremely hard and didn't hold too many shots. Overall though, $33 for 18 with a cart was good value.
Good course
Good course that's enjoyable to play. Very nice layout. Lots of water. Worst bunkers I've ever played in. No sand, huge rocks and packed dirt basically. Only negative is the bunkers.
