Fox Creek Golf & Racquet Club

About
Located just 30 miles west of Cleveland, FoxCreek Golf and Racquet Club is one of the best golf courses in Lorain County. The layout has a classic design with a shorter length and forgiving fairways. The terrain is hilly, which provides the most challenging elements of the course from the rolling undulations to the elevated tees and greens. You'll encounter numerous doglegs as well as a few blind approaches. The postage stamp-sized greens can be especially tricky. They are faster than they seem and have subtle breaks where you wouldn't expect. From the back tees, the golf course will test even the most seasoned golfer, however, FoxCreek has a nice balance of tough and player-friendly holes with plenty of variety. Your score will depend more on how creatively you utilize your shot making skills rather than on sheer strength or distance.

Great Course, taken back on the COVID awareness
The course is awesome, enjoyable to play. they take good care of it, but I will say I signed up for a single golfer. I understand that you might not be able to send out single golfers sometimes, and you may have to play with other golfers but, I wasn't given the option to have my own cart. There aren't enough carts for single golfers to go out. But there is a 3 dollar charge for COVID clean up.
Very unfriendly management and charges additional at course
Course is great. The staff at the clubhouse is the worst. Been their before and never a good experience with her. They also charge $5.00 for a cart even when included through golfnow. There is also an obligatory $2.50 per person COVID fee (not sure what that is). So Fox Creeks hot deal isn’t so hot with the additional fees charged at the course even though golfnow says no additional fees at the course in checkout. Golfnow should investigate the courses pay or remove from their site. Won’t go there again unless they get honest and maybe even change personal.
Extra fee
The course charged an extra $2.50 for Covid. This was not charged earlier this year when I played there, and I did not see this in the booking either. Not a lot of money, but still disappointing.
This is a very nice course
This is a very nice course. This is not an easy course by any means but it's very very good
Smooth and quick greens
Nice track. Tough course. Bring your A game with the putter
Windy Play
The greens were Too small Too hard and Too fast given the layout. The rough was weeds and bare spots. The fairways a bit worn out. The price was very low so the conditions matched the cost. The amenities and Proshop were nonexistent/lacking The lady working the course was nice enough. Much nicer than some other reviews seemed to indicate. I don’t regret going, but would not play it again.
Not worth the money
Staff charged me a $2.50 surcharge upon arrival at the course after I already paid through golf now. They also tried to make me ride together with a stranger which should be against Covid protocol.
Worker is a witch
I have no idea why Fox Creek would keep the desk worker employed. From my initial greeting I knew she would be a treat. It’s amazing that people who hate their jobs that much can still go to work every day. I hope whatever is making her miserable in life gets cleared up because living with that much hate can’t be enjoyable. I will absolutely never go back to this course which sucks because it it so close to home and reasonably priced.
good course, worst service
The morning did not start off well, the course manager was very unpleasant to deal with, when I asked about having a rider (non golfer) go along she was not to welcoming of the idea, and then charged $20 when the cart fee for 18 holes is $13. Signs were posted that a charge of $2.50 per rider would by added for sanitizing the carts. Be sides the poor reception the day went fair other players in front were very slow and held up pace of play. course was in good shape except a few repair places.
Good, but was probably at one point better.
Staff was very friendly and cared, but course itself has probably seen better days. Challenging, but also needs to be better maintained. If you can get in for under $20, it’s definitely worth it!
Worst Customer Service EVER
My first time here, my friend said it's nice just the lady working inside is a nightmare. Sure enough the lady couldn't reason to why I shouldn't ride in a cart during a pandemic with a complete stranger. With no one in the parking lot it would be impossible for the person they wanted to pair up with our 3 some to tee off and we can play behind him. A joke. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!
Fox Creek improving
Thanx to GN for hot Deals, Greens are good, and they've cut down some overgrown side bushes, making general appearance look better.
Don’t go if you aren’t a local.
Course itself isn’t too bad actually, but no yardage markers to be found, and was a very frustrating round, which I was glad when it was over. GPS to their address takes you somewhere else as well !
And do yourself a favor, and don’t bother trying to get a drink at the turn, very slow, and rude.
And you have to leave them your driver license for a cart....first time I ever experienced that.
Gas cart ran out of gas around the 15 th hole.
Customer service
They added $10 surcharge on top of the surcharge we payed golfnow. Bought t time for $15 online and paid $22.50 when all said and done. People were not nice at all. Not going back.
