Fox Creek Golf & Racquet Club

About
Located just 30 miles west of Cleveland, FoxCreek Golf and Racquet Club is one of the best golf courses in Lorain County. The layout has a classic design with a shorter length and forgiving fairways. The terrain is hilly, which provides the most challenging elements of the course from the rolling undulations to the elevated tees and greens. You'll encounter numerous doglegs as well as a few blind approaches. The postage stamp-sized greens can be especially tricky. They are faster than they seem and have subtle breaks where you wouldn't expect. From the back tees, the golf course will test even the most seasoned golfer, however, FoxCreek has a nice balance of tough and player-friendly holes with plenty of variety. Your score will depend more on how creatively you utilize your shot making skills rather than on sheer strength or distance.

Disappointed
The course was very wet and really unplayable. Booked through golf18 now. Could not get a refund or a credit. Only way to get a credit or refund was if there was lighting. Ridiculous!!
Over priced
Course is over priced for current conditions then they add a $2.50 fee to sanitize your cart. Pace of play was ridiculously slow. Quit with three holes left because 5 hours was long enough. Lucky for me i got a great rate thru golf now but my friends paid $44.
course
The course itself is very challenging. What is anti consumer is the fact that they will only give you a raincheck if lighting strikes. The course was soggy wet. Ridiculous.
Worst golf course in Ohio
The best part of this golf course is the beaver we saw on #2 and watching the deer and fawns play. Biggest piece of crap golf course I've ever played. Terrible waste of good farm land and the fairways and rough resembled a pasture. They charge you an extra $2.50 per golfer for a cart cleaning fee due to Covid 19 that they don't tell you about, and the cart was so dirty that my wife had to clean it before we got in. I could live with the funky layout of the course if it had been in better shape. You;ll be sorry if you ever waste your money to play here.
Masks
I was mortified that the staff was not enforcing the LAW. There were people all over the place with no masks on, how dangerous! I chose to spend my time and money here, and I would’ve hoped they would have cared maybe a little bit.
Excellent recovery
The last few years has been hard on the back 9 due to flooding issues from the creek / Lake Erie's high levels. They have made great strides in repairing the damage, creating protective ways from future flooding, and yet keeping the course in great condition. They have made repairs to the bridges, and the whole place looks great. This was the second best course as far as in playing shape that I have played this year. I would highly recommend you playing a round here soon.
Surprisingly Very challenging coarse and greens
Fairways were a little rough but the greens are in great shape and fast
Fox Creek is tough if not hitting ball straight
I played poorly this day, no fault of the course. Greens are good, and the weather this day was awesome. #3 & 17 could be the hardest par4s in Lorain Cnty. Thanx to GN for the HotDeals, so I can come back to redeem my weak play & score in mid-80's.
Fox Creek getting better, just need weather to cooperate.
Fox Creek is down in a bowl, doesn't have great (new) drainage, and depends on rains-water (but not to much to flood the back9) The course is actually in good shape, and they now open 8am Fri-Sun. Greens are nice; I just have a tough time hitting GiR.. I played the first 6holes even, then struggled with make iron play to make pars. Great value thru GN Hot Deals .......I'll be back!
This course has a terrible policy.
They insist that you surrender your Driver's License in exchange for receiving a key to the golf cart, and then if you forget to return the key after the round is completed, you will be driving without a license on your way home, and then you must return to the course later when you realize you that you returned home without your Driver's License! This is a pathetic policy, and probably illegal.
