Fox Creek Golf & Racquet Club
About
Located just 30 miles west of Cleveland, FoxCreek Golf and Racquet Club is one of the best golf courses in Lorain County. The layout has a classic design with a shorter length and forgiving fairways. The terrain is hilly, which provides the most challenging elements of the course from the rolling undulations to the elevated tees and greens. You'll encounter numerous doglegs as well as a few blind approaches. The postage stamp-sized greens can be especially tricky. They are faster than they seem and have subtle breaks where you wouldn't expect. From the back tees, the golf course will test even the most seasoned golfer, however, FoxCreek has a nice balance of tough and player-friendly holes with plenty of variety. Your score will depend more on how creatively you utilize your shot making skills rather than on sheer strength or distance.

great course well maintained
The course was in very good shape, even though the greens were recently aerated and fresh sand applied they were still in good condition. The fairways had very few bare patches or divots, overall very good condition.
Great layout and greens
Layout makes for a nice strategic round
Greens are old style, back to front sloped, challenging and fun
you will lose balls OB
Par 3s are short, ho hum
Great value if you don't care about amenities, just golf
not bad
This is a great course, when it is dry. Elevated T boxes I and the greens make it worth the money. Not to mention some of the most challenging part 5's in the area.
Not bad for the hot buy
Course was pretty well taken care of, mostly long open fairways but still gets technical on green approach and putting. Pro shop is barren, a desk with a computer and a tshirt rack is all it has. As for food there really wasn't any. I like grabbing a hotdog on the turn, all there was was a vending machine in the cart garage so I had to settle for a $1 small bag of combos that I can get at the local cornerstore for 65 cents. You can tell this course used to flourish back in the day, but now it's facilities are like a ghost town. The golf was still pretty good overall.
Local favorite
Love this course. Very tough, hidden challenge. Make sure your hitting straight, or you can be ate up.
Average
Course was very hard in spots. Like hitting off of concrete.
Great course
First time there and I'll be a repeat customer only bad thing I came across was no food till 1130 I'm an early golfer so lunch for me is 10-1030 but that's ok course was great!!
A beautiful course
A beautiful, well groomed, and great value golf course, thanks golfnow for getting me there.
Nice course
It was my first time playing at Fox Creek. The course was in great shape, greens rolled true, and the views were excellent. There were numerous elevated tees and greens, which made it a little challenging (not to mention the 15-20 mph winds at times). The value was great. I would definitely recommend checking this course out sometime this summer!
Course is in nice shape
This is a nice course. It's got a little of everything: changes in elevation, water, sand, and plenty of dog legs. I was surprised that it was dry out, having stormed a day or two before. They are working on improving the drainage, so certain parts of the course are under repair. All in all a very nice round.
Fun course some real challenging holes
This course is fun to play. It is not real difficult but a challenge particularly if you do not get off the tee well. There are several blind shots where direction and distance come into play and several holes involve second shots over water. Like all courses playing from the blue adds to the length and difficulty. I like the shot making needed to score well.
I recommend Fox Creek as a great round of golf.
Bang for the buck
. Weather was terrible. From tee to green still very playable. Once a nice establishment, now rundown. Course is still challenging.
Wet, wet, wet.
Although the course was very wet, when it had not rained in days, the fairways were well manicured and the greens in excellent condition. Upon arriving, carts looked like they had been through a mud bog, didn't take long to find out why. Course is well taken care of, golfers are not, for example, cart paths, restrooms, pro shop all show their age.
ok
The course was flooded and made it hard to really enjoy it. No one told us they moved the tee boxes because of the flooding. Alot of tees mismarked. Dont think I'll come back
Fox Creek needs some work
This course is in a valley, so I'm not sure it's ever dry. Poorly marked yardage, and 2 par 5s are now par 3s. The cart paths are under water, and full of ruts.
good value
nice challenging greens, fairways were in good condition
it had just rained....
it was not bad value for the money but it had just rained the night before so everything was wet and damp but not the course's fault, so please take my review with a grain of salt. Played long due to wind and weather, but without the golfnow discount I think it would have been over priced for 18 holes during the week... But all in all I will probably play there again with better weather conditions.
Classic Style course.
This is fun challenging course that sits in a small valley. It gives you a lot of unique shots. The 1st and 10th tees are about 50 feet above the fairways. Many tee boxes and greens have extreme elevation changes. There are several trees that force you to play around them on several holes. With the cooler than normal weather and more rain, the course was still in great shape it was not soggy except for the few spots. Greens are tiny, and the ones cut into the hill can have a lot of slope, keep the ball below the hole. Always super fast play!!! Cart paths were a little bumpy and was the only part of the course that had too much water, lots of puddles everywhere.
fox creek
small greens thick rough somewhat challenging.would not pay normal green fees to play this course.just okay.
a good challange
This course will challange you so be prepared great visuals and bring a few extra balls for you hackers out there water and woods almost everyhole
I wanted to add that this course is a lot more difficult than it first appears. The drastic and extreme elevation changes to small greens with a lot of slope can make it difficult to score low. At the same time, there are not a lot of holes apart from a couple that can really punish you.
