Fox Creek Golf & Racquet Club

About
Located just 30 miles west of Cleveland, FoxCreek Golf and Racquet Club is one of the best golf courses in Lorain County. The layout has a classic design with a shorter length and forgiving fairways. The terrain is hilly, which provides the most challenging elements of the course from the rolling undulations to the elevated tees and greens. You'll encounter numerous doglegs as well as a few blind approaches. The postage stamp-sized greens can be especially tricky. They are faster than they seem and have subtle breaks where you wouldn't expect. From the back tees, the golf course will test even the most seasoned golfer, however, FoxCreek has a nice balance of tough and player-friendly holes with plenty of variety. Your score will depend more on how creatively you utilize your shot making skills rather than on sheer strength or distance.

Course was in ok shape, however considering the days leading up to we’re fairly good weather, the course was quite wet. The rough was extremely thick and lost a lot of balls that should have been easy to track down due to it. Cart path only in the afternoon was fairly unnecessary as most of the course had dried out by then.
No club house or pro shop
Very nice course but disappointed in the amenities
Fun day in the sun
The course is in decent condition. Fairly challenging with some tight shots and lots of doglegs. A little out of the way but well worth the trip. Lack of Food and Drinks for the turn was a little disappointing.
Greens still great
Some of the toughest greens in the county. Staff doing a great job keeping the place playable and cut. Got deal was $27 for 18 w/cart. Can’t beat it
Not bad good greens but very circus
A lot of wild doglegs & crazy holes but in decent shape. Nice bar in the clubhouse
Beware booking through GolfNow
Finding the course and “clubhouse” is a nightmare, no signage and calls to course were going to voicemail. After driving an hour was told course did not have reservation booked and paid for through GolfNow, then they said GolfNow cancelled my reservation the day before but did not notify me. We could play if we paid again but would not honor GolfNow price. Paid and fortunately got money back from GolfNow. Course had no yardage markers other than 150 yards, no signage on cart paths to direct to tee boxes. Course was wet and has some real issues with drainage and large pools of water everywhere and geese droppings all over. Round started poorly with reservation issue and never really improved, just a scruffy course with little to no customer service. Next time I drive an hour to Lorain heading to Valley of the Eagles, a little more expensive but they appreciate golfers.
Smooth
Smooth and quick greens after lots of rain. I was highly impressed with the greens and the way the cups were cut.
Nice course, but needs yard markers!
We were rained out after five holes, but the guy at the counter had to check with the owner to see if we could be given rainchecks, which I thought odd. We did get them, though.
Bill from Akron
I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. I recall playing Fox Creek several years ago and it was in ok condition. Today I played a well maintained course, with excellent t boxes, greens firm but fair and a very professional staff. I look forward to playing Fox Crrek again.
Course was in fairly good condition though the greens had been recently aerated. Woman at club
house was less than friendly to us. As we were teeing off on 10 at 1 hour 55 minutes into our round she asked "just getting to ten now". While finishing up on 16 she was riding a cart picking up flags and told us to pick up the pace. We finished 18 in just 4 hours which to her was slow I guess. Apparently she had somewhere better to be. Will definitely not play here again.

This course has gone down hill
After booking on golf now. When you arrive at the course they charge an extra 2.50 per player, they call it a covid charge. Then if you don't book all 4 slots they force you to ride in a cart with someone you don't know instead of giving you a separate cart by yourself with covid going on. It's the only course I've played that doing that. Everywhere else will give you your own cart.
