About
Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

In Great shape !
They have been watering and you could sure tell it.!
Course was in the best condition. Greens and fairways very nice. I will be back. Course was a fun one to play. Nice layout. Be sure to drop your clubs on the rack. It’s a long way to carry them from the parking. No carts allowed in lot.
Sunday Play
This is my second time playing here and it has made its way into my rotation of places to play. The staff (owner I believe) is as nice and accommodating as can be considering we had 2 of 7 golfers back out last minute. This course is $55 on this past Sunday, $7 more than a course closer to me. I would gladly pass over the $48 course for the conditions at Brown's Run.
Nice course
The course was in good shape, and was well maintained. The groups on front of my twosome were courteous and allowed us to play through, which lead to a great pace-of-play. I would play again.
Brown's Run Getting Better
We have played Brown's Run a lot in the past but this was only time in 2022. Course was green and lush with few damp or dried out spots. The green, especially par 3s, were marked up quite a bit and the speed was moderately slow. The traps were very thin and hard packed mostly ... stay out of the traps. We caught a great day and the pace of play was 3.5 hrs for our threesome. We had to go around two couples on #10 and then we sped up. I would recommend Brown's Run on a dry day .... not sure how some of the fairways will drain on a rainy day.

Fairways were all in great shape. Greens pretty good condition too. Really nice track!
Brown’s Run
First time playing here. Fairways are in good shape. Possibly even a bit overwatered. They were a bit squishy when I played and there had not been rain in at least the past 24 hours. I had a drive that plugged in the fairway and another 5-6 that were within a yard of where they landed. Site lines from the tee box feel off, feels like the tees are aiming you in a direction that the fairway is not line up with. Rough was pretty thin in areas and far more dried out than the rest of the course. Greens held decently and rolled well. Not a bad layout for walking or riding, I was not a fan of the tee box alignment though. Hit a few drives that I thought were perfect only to find them in the rough because of the shape of the fairways and alignment of the tee box.
Browns run golf
Nice course. In good shape. Pace is always pretty fast. Only complaint bunkers could use some sand and tlc.

Best course conditions of anywhere I’ve played all year. Kudos to the course staff.

First time playing it and will definitely go back if they keep conditions like that.
Very limited amenities in the club house but that was fine. Did not visit Tavern 56 so maybe that would have been a better option for food.

Very nice course
The pass was great. The layout fun to play. I knew nothing about the course, but will come back again.

A Great Suprise
I had a chance to play here despite iffy weather. Glad I did. What a beautiful hidden gem. I played in the afternoon and never had to wait on a single shot. There were a couple of groups on the front tee so the pro shop had me start on the back. Excellent group management.
Course conditions were outstanding. Some of the nicest fairways I have played on this year. There was a light rain for about 15 minutes but cleared after that. We've had enough rain that the fairways were soft with little to no roll and the greens held well. Putts were true and fairly fast before the rain.
There were a few bare spots but to be expected this time of year.
It was a 45 minute drive for me, but I will definitely return.
I did see someone report that you had to drop off your clubs as there were no carts allowed in the parking lot. That was true, but it is only a very minor inconvenience.
