About
Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

First timer: Great Track
Fairways were all in great shape. Greens pretty good condition too. Really nice track!
Brown’s Run
First time playing here. Fairways are in good shape. Possibly even a bit overwatered. They were a bit squishy when I played and there had not been rain in at least the past 24 hours. I had a drive that plugged in the fairway and another 5-6 that were within a yard of where they landed. Site lines from the tee box feel off, feels like the tees are aiming you in a direction that the fairway is not line up with. Rough was pretty thin in areas and far more dried out than the rest of the course. Greens held decently and rolled well. Not a bad layout for walking or riding, I was not a fan of the tee box alignment though. Hit a few drives that I thought were perfect only to find them in the rough because of the shape of the fairways and alignment of the tee box.

Nice course. In good shape. Pace is always pretty fast. Only complaint bunkers could use some sand and tlc.

Superb Conditions
Best course conditions of anywhere I’ve played all year. Kudos to the course staff.
Nice traditional old style country club course.
First time playing it and will definitely go back if they keep conditions like that.
Very limited amenities in the club house but that was fine. Did not visit Tavern 56 so maybe that would have been a better option for food.

Very nice course
The pass was great. The layout fun to play. I knew nothing about the course, but will come back again.
Pace of play was slow but course good shape. No Marshall to keep on pace
A Great Suprise
I had a chance to play here despite iffy weather. Glad I did. What a beautiful hidden gem. I played in the afternoon and never had to wait on a single shot. There were a couple of groups on the front tee so the pro shop had me start on the back. Excellent group management.
Course conditions were outstanding. Some of the nicest fairways I have played on this year. There was a light rain for about 15 minutes but cleared after that. We've had enough rain that the fairways were soft with little to no roll and the greens held well. Putts were true and fairly fast before the rain.
There were a few bare spots but to be expected this time of year.
It was a 45 minute drive for me, but I will definitely return.
I did see someone report that you had to drop off your clubs as there were no carts allowed in the parking lot. That was true, but it is only a very minor inconvenience.

First round playing here and was amazed bybthe conditions! The fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were easy to putt on! Greens were a bit slower than I expected but playable....Course itself was beautiful and layed out nicely. The hole could really could use better markings and directions to the next hole. It got confusing in a couple spots. Would definitely play here again though. Two thumbs up

Classic Return to Glory
I love that this one Private Gem was able to bounce back from what was seemingly neglect to the course of old. I love the layout, course was in pristine condition, and was not crowded at all.
Nice to have this place close by-still miss my beloved Weather Wax GC down the road.
Nice shape
The course is in great shape in the fairways, traps and greens. If you don’t hit those 3 areas your score will inflate. Many spots in the rough are dead and the ball settles into them. You’re hitting off hardened mud. Other than that, there’s not much selection of food and beverage in the pro shop.
Overall it’s a nice course in good shape and you will score well if you are a 5 or under handicap.
