Green Crest Golf Club
About
Green Crest Golf Club is a player-friendly course located in Middletown. The course was designed in 1972, offering a traditional layout with wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The golf course is on the shorter side at 6,271 yards from the back tees, which is indicative of the time it was designed. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the medium-sized greens on six holes and there are water hazards coming into play on eight holes, but the challenges are straightforward and don't present too much trouble for high handicappers. It might not be the golf course you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, but it's a good option if you're looking for a quick and affordable round. Green Crest Golf Club is ideal for beginners and even gentle enough for juniors.

Nice course but overpriced and overbooked
I used to play this course a lot a few years back. Stopped playing when they raised the prices and always overbooked it. Decided to give it another shot but was disappointed. We waited on every tee box for at least 5-10 minutes. Played a 5 1/2 hour round. For $48 you can find way nicer and less crowded courses in the area.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Green Crest Golf Club!
Not a bad course, but could improve
Pace of play was great. Got 18 in under 4 hours. Biggest complaint is there isn’t much difference between rough and fairway. There was a good deal of rain recently so that may have contributed but at least on this day there wasn’t much benefit to being on the fairway.

Don’t Waste Your Time or Money
In my opinion, Greencrest is the least enjoyable public golf course in southwestern Ohio and I have played most of them. It is a sometimes bizarre, quirky layout that can be incredibly tight in places. For example, #9 has an extremely narrow fairway requiring super precise placement to not end up in trees on either side. On #10, you have a spot about 15 yards square where you can land your tee shot and have a clear approach. #2 and #3 run parallel to one another with a narrow strip of trees between them which causes all kinds of confusion with players searching for balls, picking up the balls of other players and slowing down play. #4 requires an accurate tee shot that still leaves you 200 yards from the green over water. 7 is a par 3 laid out due west and uphill. If you play in the afternoon on a sunny day, good luck! On the front nine, the noise from I-75 is obnoxious and overbearing. A number of the greens are small and crowned and completely unreceptive. On #13, you have a space of about 15’ x 15’ where you can land the ball, even with a wedge, where it is likely to hold the green. In the spring when grass is growing furiously, they are always behind on mowing leaving you with 4-6” rough in many places. In the summer, the course tends to burn out and it’s like playing off of hard pan. They will allow the course to be open when there is ankle-deep water in many of the fairways and bunkers. The rangers can be pushy and rude. All in all, there are many other courses that are much better choices. This should be your last resort. If you are a mid-high handicap player, i is unlikely that you will enjoy this course.

Horrible pace of play!!
Course Starter needs to do a better job of pairing groups up and making sure that there is even time between each group so that the pace of play is consistent!! Will NEVER play there again. This is a constant problem with this course.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course, particularly on the weekends.
Horrible pace of play!!
We have played this course several times over the last couple of years, especially since we live close, but will never play again!! The course was in better condition than it has been in years which was great, but they overbooked and did not pair people up so that the pace of play was horrible. Our tee time was at 9:08 and the starter had us start at 9:00 and there were only 2 of us and we were told that we would be paired up with 2 others, which was fine with us, but he had us go ahead and start. The 2 people in front of us weren’t very good which slowed everything up and caused us to wait on every hole. We ended up asking the 2 people behind us to join us since they would end up waiting on us. They were walk ons and were told to tee off at 9:05. So basically the starter was giving groups 3 minutes between each group!!!! I know that the courses are trying to capitalize on the fact that people want to be outside and golf, but this is ridiculous. We didn’t even play 18 holes, 9 was all we could put up with!!
We appreciate your loyalty to Green Crest Golf Club over the years and we are sorry to see you did not enjoy your recent experience. We apologize for the slow pace of play during your round, as we understand it is key to your game.

Not worth it.
Had a tee time at 8:52 got rushed to the start by 8:42 just to be bottle necked the whole time waiting for 10-15 min to tee off. Ranger was on the course but didn't do anything. Fair ways and greens were in rough shape. Slot better courses around for the money...
Hi, Mullins09631. Thank you for taking the time to review the course. We take single star feedback very seriously at our course and this is not the type of service or pace of play we strive for. I’ d rate it a good place to play.
This is a good place to play. Friendly staff. Maintenance staff were out working and mowing. Which was good to see. The layout is good. It was a bit overpriced. 3 of 5 stars

Overpriced, undermaintained
I have played here for about 4 years. The quality of the course upkeep has steadily dropped while the price has risen. If anyone is paying more than $30 to play 18 with a cart here you are being swindled. Course is poorly maintained. Drainage is bad. Balls are lost if you stray off the poorly maintained fairways. There are far better courses with often lower prices in the area. I will not be coming back.
Thanks for the review. We take single-star feedback very seriously at our course. Please reach out to our management team at (513) 777-2090. Thank you for playing Green Crest Golf Club.
Pretty solid
Greens and fairways were in great shape. Rough was pretty thick and if you aren’t careful you could lose a ball in it and not find it. Teed off early in the morning and was done in just over 2 hours.
Thank you for visiting us at Green Crest Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Beautiful Morning of golf
This was my first time playing this course. It was well worth the drive from my home. I had an 8:12 tee time and I was able to finish 18 by 10:30. The only criticism of the course was that some of the rough areas were very patchy where there were clumps of grass and bald spots. The fairways, greens, tee boxes were in great shape. I did not use any of the other amenities.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Green Crest Golf Club.
