Snow Hill Country Club

My friend and I played the course on an early Friday morning, 9 am tee time. We got there and my friend fetched the cart. He waited about 5 to 10 minutes in the clubhouse for assistance from staff, as it seemed to him there was a group of guys just standing around talking.

We got on the course and played a quick front 9. We never felt pushed and I don't feel we rushed the guys in from of us, both in twosome. When we made the turn, suddenly a foursome appeared in front of us. They were slow and wouldn't let us pass them. There was an entire hole in front of them empty. Pace of play was horrible.

The course was inundated with standing water. I know it's trained quite a bit in the days leading up or round, but it certainly seemed like it didn't drain well. Green were in good shape, but the tee boxes were pretty poor. It seemed no one repaired their tee shots even though the course provides all that's needed on the cart. The carts weren't particularly great either. Ours hesitated several seconds before it would go.

Overall, this is a great layout. I don't think it's particularly difficult and a high handicap would enjoy it. But, the course wasn't it's normal self and for a Friday, it was strange that it was kind of what I call "yahoo" or Nascar golf. My question is, did the foursome sneak out on the back nine or did the clubhouse send them out on the back nine. They went directly from 18 to the front 9. If the course sent them to 10, it was late in the day to do so (11 am). The foursome would've come directly in with people making the turns. A 4+ course was more of a 3 that day. I was on pace to break a personal best on the front, but the foursome disrupted out piece and tempo. Both my partner and I shot 10 strikes wise on the back. Very frustrating.

A threesome comprising a Columbus player and two Cincinnati players meet on occasion to enjoy each others company playing the game they Love. Snow Hill is about equal in distance for all. Not only is it equal distance but also is a true gem of a golf course. We truly appreciate the treasure it is. It is more than worth the drive. The price via golf now with a reward or two makes this choice of play well worth the green fee. I would be driving to this course even if it were not for the rendezvous GC between the three friends.

My group loved this course. It has beautiful views , nicely kept. The greens are in great shape but challenging. We’ll play there again! I’d highly recommend it.

This course is a hidden gem for southern OH. Fairways are wide but once off them you will have tree trouble.

The new owners have done a great job, the greens are good and consistent the rough is playable worth the drive

I realize it’s still early Spring, but I’ve seen the course in much better condition in the past. There’s a lot of places in fairways that need attention, not horrible mind you, but still need some work to bring it back to what I’ve seen in the past. Love the staff, they are super, but someone needs to monitor groups on the course, played behind a threesome playing blue tees, when they had no business doing so, long, long waits for them on several holes while they tried to find their tee shots, which very seldom (never) found the fairway, very frustrating.

Horse was in very good shape greens or cut very short. Putting is difficult greens have crazy undulations I wouldn’t recommend this course to a beginner but the average 15 to 20 handicap or we’ll still have fun

Fast greens great lay out and a beautiful place to play a must play course

Greens are always the best. Condition of the course was outstanding, didn’t play well but still loved the round.

Pace of play was a little slow today.
