About
Opened in 1923, Madison Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the area. It has a traditional design that measures to a modest 6,145 yards from the back tees. The golf course may be short by modern standards but this member-owned course has been a local favorite since it first opened. The classic layout has wide, player-friendly fairways that offer plenty of room and the terrain is mostly flat, making it a good golf course to walk. There are a few mature trees scattered throughout and you'll also come across some strategically placed bunkers as well. Madison Country Club is ideal for beginners but it's also a great round of practice for more advanced players. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and short-game area at the club.

Some love
Exceptional challenging course..
Some greens could use some love. Some cart paths too. some dirt paths with tree root speed bumps. Club house isn’t anything inviting to have a post play cocktail in. Bathrooms are beyond dated…
GPS in the carts would be a nice upgrade.
But! As far as golf, the course play I’d rate it as a 8.8 outta 10

Professionalism
I lost a head cover at some point throughout my round. About an hour after I left, Amy at the pro shop called me and said she had it turned in. She did not have to call me, but out of kindness she did. She showed a level of care and professionalism that people just don't see these days. Made my day. Thanks Amy!. Great course and great conditions, will come back again.

A Great Layout
It's May in Ohio, so it wasn't pristine, but may have lost a step from years past. Greens were a little slower and furrier than normal, but rolled very well. Bunker maintenance is a challenge everywhere, and these were very well taken care of, but could.use some more sand. Getting a bit thin. Fairways and rough were mowed, and just a bit spotty. So many beautiful Trees on the course are starting to take over with their root systems. Another common issue with old school courses. The layout is fantastic, challenging, scenic and worthy of playing, especially for a $22 Hot Deal. Move this course anywhere else, and it is $75 all day..NE Ohio is the Golf gift that never ends (at least for 4-6 months a year). I would note that Hemlock Springs has surpassed it in conditioning/maintenance this season, and highly recommend both courses.
Course overall was in great shape but the sand traps were very thin and firm. I will account some of that being to its still early in the year as the course is usually very nice all around. All other aspects were very good.

Best draining course I have ever played. Rained all day Saturday, course was dry in Sunday.
