About
Opened in 1923, Madison Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the area. It has a traditional design that measures to a modest 6,145 yards from the back tees. The golf course may be short by modern standards but this member-owned course has been a local favorite since it first opened. The classic layout has wide, player-friendly fairways that offer plenty of room and the terrain is mostly flat, making it a good golf course to walk. There are a few mature trees scattered throughout and you'll also come across some strategically placed bunkers as well. Madison Country Club is ideal for beginners but it's also a great round of practice for more advanced players. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and short-game area at the club.

A Great Layout
It's May in Ohio, so it wasn't pristine, but may have lost a step from years past. Greens were a little slower and furrier than normal, but rolled very well. Bunker maintenance is a challenge everywhere, and these were very well taken care of, but could.use some more sand. Getting a bit thin. Fairways and rough were mowed, and just a bit spotty. So many beautiful Trees on the course are starting to take over with their root systems. Another common issue with old school courses. The layout is fantastic, challenging, scenic and worthy of playing, especially for a $22 Hot Deal. Move this course anywhere else, and it is $75 all day..NE Ohio is the Golf gift that never ends (at least for 4-6 months a year). I would note that Hemlock Springs has surpassed it in conditioning/maintenance this season, and highly recommend both courses.
Course overall was in great shape but the sand traps were very thin and firm. I will account some of that being to its still early in the year as the course is usually very nice all around. All other aspects were very good.

Best draining course I have ever played. Rained all day Saturday, course was dry in Sunday.

Had a great time. Greens and fairways are in great shape for this time of year.
Difficult Pin Placements on a beautiful fall day
It was a gorgeous day for golf and we really enjoyed it! The course wasn't crowded so we moved along without any waiting. Conditions were excellent except for the pin placements. It seemed the most holes were extremely close to the first edge of the green - less than 10 feet! Our golf game was good but putts were high! We will be back again, though, as it is so beautiful!

Tight Fairways
Course is very narrow, and the layout is kind of confusing if you’ve never been there. Cart paths could use some work, but the course itself is very nice and definitely requires accuracy.

Great value for set up and course conditions
This course is wonderful for the price. We play there for $25 hot deals, and I couldn't be happier when I score that. Even normal price is super affordable for the course at hand.
