Madison Country Club
About
Opened in 1923, Madison Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the area. It has a traditional design that measures to a modest 6,145 yards from the back tees. The golf course may be short by modern standards but this member-owned course has been a local favorite since it first opened. The classic layout has wide, player-friendly fairways that offer plenty of room and the terrain is mostly flat, making it a good golf course to walk. There are a few mature trees scattered throughout and you'll also come across some strategically placed bunkers as well. Madison Country Club is ideal for beginners but it's also a great round of practice for more advanced players. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and short-game area at the club.

Great Track
We played on a beautiful October Sunday of temps in the 70's. The greens were in quick, smooth and in excellent shape, fairways a bit thin from recent aerification. Bunkers have not been raked or kept up for many days, typical this time of year in northern ohio. Course is tight and tree lined, but fair landing areas. Gentleman behind counter was extremely friendly and professional. Highly recommend, price was great too.
1st time playing
Madison is tree lined scenic challenging round of golf.Tight driving chutes, sloped well guarded greens.
Greens are fast, very fast stay below the hole fast. Will play again.
Great value!
Madison CC is an older country club that recently opened for public play. Although not designed by Donald Ross, it has many of the classic Ross design standards, including small and elevated greens and using the natural terrain for proper drainage. The sand traps were in good to excellent condition and played fairly.
The course was in excellent shape. Some of the fairways had been aerated, but the greens and tee boxes had not. I was told by someone inside the course superintendent usually waits until late in the season to do the aeration.
I teed off as a single but met up with a twosome on the second hole as they were waiting to tee off. Pace of play wasn't bad although we had to wait at times for our shots.
Everyone I spoke to at the course was very friendly and helpful. The pro shop, restrooms and food areas were small and dated, but the food and beverage options were good.
I will be back to play this course again.
Course was in great shape
The greens were very fast but in great shape, the fairways and tee boxes were in very good shape.
Beautiful course.
I've played this course in years past and it has not always been in good shape. The new management has cleaned everything up and it is in excellent shape for a public course.
Unfriendly host
Clubhouse said, "golfnow took your money and I do not have a tee time for you unless you can find someone to pair up with."
Perfect Conditions
I always enjoy taking the trip out to Madison for this course. The course is in absolutely perfect condition. Green fairways when many other courses are brown. Greens are firm and fast. Will definitely go back even thought it is an hour drive for me.
Great Course, Great Value
Over the years, from private to public now, this course has no challenge in course condition. It is amazing how the current ownership has brought this condition back to "private club" level. The challenge is fair and requires more accuracy than length. The greens are huge for a variety of pin locations.
New experience
Found the course to be in great condition, as you'd expect from a "country club", people were friendly, nice carts and cart paths. Course was very challenging with some rolling terrain, streams running thru many fairways, lots of sand and very large, lush greens. The experience was a pleasant one and a course we will definitely try again.
Beautiful Golf Course
I've never played a nicer golf course for under 25 bucks. Greens, Tees and Fairways are immaculate. Ran into a league on the back and the staff gave us 18 dollar greens fee passes which was totally unnecessary. Will be back again soon.
Great course, great value
Course was in tip top shape. Can't find greens any better in the area. Staff was extremely friendly and hoped we'd return.
Good course
Fairways and tee boxes were in great condition. Greens were a little bumpy however healthy. One of the staff member rudely asked my partner and I to leave the range so they could pick balls. This was after we were told by another staff member encouraged us to go hit a few. Guy was a D.
The quality of the course FAR exceeds the $ spent
I almost don't want to even give it a review for fear that more people will show up there. I couldn't believe how nice it was for the money we spent. Very well taken care of course. The greens rolled true and had an average speed. The fairways were narrow but in great shape. Some of the sand was a little we and not sure why but it was actually sand and not some dirt sand that we usually run into around this area.
Madison
The best value in the area. Outstanding course conditions.
Course condition is an A+
The greens are championship fast. The sand is clean with the right amount of fluff. The fairways always cut the correct height. If I had to play only one course every day. it would be this one. Stay left on hole #14. The road is on the right.
Nice course
We played on a chilly mid October day. Quite impressive layout. Challenging and in good shape. Greens are excellent.
Great Staff
Got to the course a couple of min. late, due to morning traffic on I 480, but the staff was very friendly and understanding. Nice people.
Even though the greens were recently top dressed, the greens rolled fast and true. I see the grounds crew working hard on maint, a sign of good management. It's over an hour away but I will return, just for the greens.
Beautiful course but!!
They stuck us behind a outing of 40 people. We were to play 18 but only played 8 holes, that took 2 1/2 hours so we just quit. Did receive a rain check for the other 9. Outing was to tee off at noon, shotgun start but it did not get going until almost 12:30 and then there was a huge traffic jam, of course. Asked if we could start on the back as nobody was on hole #10 was told no.
Get there before too late !!
Greens are still amazing !! Get there before the season is over ! Well worth the cost and gas money to play.
