About
Named after a native American word for maple forest, Manakiki Golf Course's defining feature is the abundance of maple trees that line the winding fairways. The course is a classic Donald Ross design. He incorporated a variety of challenges including tricky doglegs, water hazards, up-and-down holes, and two canyon holes. The holes themselves also cover a range from short to long and tight to open. Golfers should prepare themselves for a bevy of uneven lies, but the dramatic elevation changes also guarantee some scenic views throughout the golf course. There are also sand traps but their placement and number were thoughtfully considered to make Manakiki G.C. challenging but still playable. It is popular for this reason but also because it is one of the best rounds in northeast Ohio you can find for under $50.

Classic Ross !!!
Manakiki is a gem located in Lake County. Its been a few years since I have played this great track. Course conditions were excellent, Greens are sneaky fast and smooth, fairways great, and unlike most public courses the bunkers had sand & were raked.(what a concept!!) An added bonus was pace of play. Our round was 4:15 in length. Other so called premium courses in the area pale in comparison to Manakiki!! Well Done !!
Tough public track
For a public course this is a tough test for your game. Need to play it several times to know where best to hit the ball and what distance. First timers will be at a great disadvantage. Greens were in great shape and rolled fast. A hard rain right before tee time rivuleted and hard-packed some of the traps, so I decided not to hit into them ; ). All in all worth the money

Super fun…. Cept.
First time playing. (I live in Charlotte) . Figured I’d walk 18. Get that exercise! Everything was great. Staff was nice and the course was in great shape. Greens were faster then I’d expect a public course to be. 5 star on the course. Well, on a 90 degree day…. I get to the 3rd hole. Finished my water and no water on the entire course. I asked the Marshall on the 4th. He said their are water fountains. All off. So…. That’s my only gripe. Just tell people no water on course… so I can prepare and have some extra in the bag.
Great Course in Great Condition
Greens are always in great shape. The pace of play was excellent today. Staff is always very friendly and efficient.
