Named after a native American word for maple forest, Manakiki Golf Course's defining feature is the abundance of maple trees that line the winding fairways. The course is a classic Donald Ross design. He incorporated a variety of challenges including tricky doglegs, water hazards, up-and-down holes, and two canyon holes. The holes themselves also cover a range from short to long and tight to open. Golfers should prepare themselves for a bevy of uneven lies, but the dramatic elevation changes also guarantee some scenic views throughout the golf course. There are also sand traps but their placement and number were thoughtfully considered to make Manakiki G.C. challenging but still playable. It is popular for this reason but also because it is one of the best rounds in northeast Ohio you can find for under $50.

The course played beautifully. The knock on Manakiki has always been it’s slow greens. The greens rolled perfectly and were fast.

First class public course
First class public course. The only problem is that it is so popular that the pace of play is a bit slow. Was still able to finish in less than five hours, however.

Excellent course and amazing condiitons
The course was in outstanding shape amazing shape and I bought an outstanding group to play with. Starters were ok, not the friendliest or the meanest but most are retired. Overall with the conditions weather it was a great day.
