About
Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course in Willoughby is a player-friendly course that is open year-round. The classic design has appeal for low and high handicappers alike whether you are a beginner who wants some practice or a scratch golfer looking for a casual round. The front nine is relatively flat but the terrain gets more challenging on the back nine. There is also a creek that wanders across the back nine, coming into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal throughout the golf course but it's strategically placed. The hole you need to watch out for is the par-4 15th. This challenging 435-yard hole is Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course's no. 1 handicap hole. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and practice putting green available.

Great course if you can tolerate slow play
This course is perfect by all accounts except VERY slow play that we have run into the last few times. For this reason we will avoid this course. Perhaps they do not have a choice as this is a municipal course but some folks should not be on a golf course or let faster players through.

Fairways and greens are in good shape.
They do a really good job with course maintenance. Grounds crew is keeping it well mowed and green. Good signage from 1-18. Noticed several new Tee boxes under construction. wish they would give the same attention to some existing sand traps, which seem to have a few weeds. Noticed the ground crew digging and repacking the sand bunker behind #1 green. Was able to chip and putt before my round but the driving range was closed due to maintenance on Thursday mornings and I was unaware of that. Also, was surprised that I had to share a golf cart in this instance. Signed up as a single golfer, and they paired me with one other in the same category. Thought we would both have our own carts since we played the round as a twosome. Enjoyed viewing the bald eagle nest between #2 green and #3 tee box. Overall experience was pleasant.

Private Club Condition
The course continues to be superbly maintained. As good or better than most private clubs and currently better than the Metroparks (which are usually quite good). Further the staff is excellent. Jim, Mike to name a few. Highly recommend you play this course.

Two thumbs up.
Shot a great front 9, and got caught in a downpour on the back. But the course played great and it didn’t break the bank. Great greens.
I didn’t eat at the course so can’t rate that element. Carts could use the plastic guards for when it rains. Cart paths also were being renovated. But overall good course.

Best Value in Town
Excellent fairways, greens. Cart path needs work but can live with it. Also, there are rangers that try to help with pace of play. Not like many others higher priced courses. Keep it up.

Lost nation
Course is in amazing condition… the greens here are def one of my favorite they are smaller than most courses but roll true. Fairways are like carpet and bunkers are looking pretty good for this time of the year!! Very enjoyable round with lots of gettable holes with a couple tough ones.

Nice course
Super friendly staff at the turn an employee must have went to the restroom so a person from the pro shop jumped up and helped out our foresome. It was car path only but the greens and the bunkers were the best I have seen this year. If you get a chance to play this course I would say definitely play here great experience.
