About
Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course in Willoughby is a player-friendly course that is open year-round. The classic design has appeal for low and high handicappers alike whether you are a beginner who wants some practice or a scratch golfer looking for a casual round. The front nine is relatively flat but the terrain gets more challenging on the back nine. There is also a creek that wanders across the back nine, coming into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal throughout the golf course but it's strategically placed. The hole you need to watch out for is the par-4 15th. This challenging 435-yard hole is Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course's no. 1 handicap hole. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and practice putting green available.

Good course, inflexible managers
This course is in excellent shape, as good as a country club except 14 fairway. That said they (only one person
really) treat hot deals as pariah compared to all the other courses in the area. Even the other staff complained about this gentleman. During COVID this course was charging $14 for a single cart per person nearly double of other courses. Most of the other staff is just fine. Play this if you get a hot deal.

The course played well this morning. Greens ran very smoothly. I got aroung in less than 3.5 hours even though I teamed up with a twosome..

Turf in great shape
Amazed at conditions for the price. Great value during the week and you beat the rush teeing off before 2. A couple of older groups were slow to let through faster twosomes which made the back take twice as long as the front, but can’t say I’m surprised by that happening. Couple of the par 5s play like par 4.5’s but not complaining about an “extra”‘birdie. Short for a par 72. Bottom line: They care about the conditions, wish I would’ve tried playing here before.

Best round this year!
The course is handling the weather very well.Staff was applying water to greens as needed Got out by myself before 8 and finished in less than 3 hours!

Bad Course for a Good Price
It’s been about 4 years since I last played at lost nation and it’s just as bad as I remember. The course is always in bad shape. Very dry, diseased patches of grass everywhere, never have a decent lie in the rough cause it’s just patches of dirt. The staff there is so strict with their rules on pairing people up for pace of play. When I went I just went by myself and they made me share a cart with the other guy who also went by himself which I felt was very awkward and a little silly with Covid-19 still being a thing. Honestly I hate playing here I only go because the price is low sometimes and it’s close.

Wonderful as always
Still a little damp from last week's rain. Cart path only is a young man's game lol. Pace of play was still outstanding. Hit it down the middle so didn't have to deal with high wet rough!
