Golf Club at Mansion Ridge

Where in New Jersey and love going to this corse when we get a great deal this time of the year because it is kind of pricey .It is beautiful the greens were pretty fast and true Fairways excellent condition traps ineed alittle work but with the rain we’ve been getting that’s understandable tea boxes in very good shape . I recommend this course or anyone but really not a beginner enjoy

Every tee box I drove up to had the 4 some in front of us still hitting their tee shots. There was a ranger on the course but they refused to tell the 4some holding the course up to keep up with the group in front of them. It's a shame because I love the course but the rounds are just too long.

Beautiful Nicklaus Signature course. After years of gross mismanagement by American Golf, Troon took over several years ago and have done a fantastic job with the course, cart path, bunkers, clubhouse, and golf carts. Fairways were in great shape, and greens were fast and smooth. Course layout is spectacular - kudos to Jack Nicklaus' design. Staff/rangers are friendly and customer-focused. Round took longer than I would've liked - not sure why - but still very enjoyable..

I'll start by saying I love Mansion Ridge and have played it a lot over the past 4-5 years. I'd normally give the course 4-5 stars for most categories, and would normally "Recommend this course to a friend". Not this time. It's usually in tip-top shape. Greens are always fast. Rough is always thick, but manageable. Fairways are always cut pretty tight. Tees and bunkers are usually in great shape too.

Now that being said, this particular time, the course was really rough. I understand that we've had a ton of rain recently, but some of the fairways appeared to not have been cut in 4-5 days. The rough was swallowing up balls and was well above my ankles. I generally get through a round with 1or 2 balls.. This time, I went through 2 sleeves because multiple balls that were just off the fairway were lost in the 8" rough. I'm glad I got a deal time and only paid $75 to play. Had I paid full price on this particular day, I would've been left with a really sour taste in my mouth. The fact that the course appeared to have not been mowed in days, is kind of insulting to people who paid full price. When you see that a course is charging upwards of $169, you expect a certain type of conditions. And Mansion Ridge failed that test this particular time. If the course isn't in great shape, lower the price until you can mow the fairways/tees/rough and give people $169 conditions. Plain and simple, you shouldn't be charging people an arm and a leg to play a course that isn't in great shape. When the course dries up and you're able to give it the proper attention that it needs, then bump the price back up to what it normally is.

One thing that seems to be a constant here unfortunately, is a pretty poor pace of play. The wet conditions didn't help that. Get a ranger out there. I can't remember the last time I played here quickly or saw a ranger on the course.
