Great Course
Course has a great variety of challenging holes and excellent views. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Great service from the pro shop, cafe and beverage cart.
river's edge
greens were winterized already , sand all over them , that was the only bad part , fairway's were excellent
Put this course on your list to play!
I had a great time at this course in the middle of Bend, (my favorite vacation spot). Staff treated us wonderfully, course was in excellent shape. I didn't play all that well, but who cares anyway. I am coming back here for sure.
not the best
condition of course was poor for the price. Greens rough some tee boxes poor condition no GPS in carts like other courses in the area. Highest price for carts
great day, but a long day
I had a great day on the course, best round I've ever played but I felt like the pro shop staff could have been better. I booked a tee time online for 11:24. I made it there around 11expecting to have a quick warm up on the putting green. They informed me that they had a tournament going on and we would be a little delayed. I didn't mind but I felt like they could offer a range token or something cause we didnt get off til about 12:10 and was delayed the whole round and got done at 445. They just didn't seem to care and I feel like it should state online that there was a tournament going on. I might be wrong but I've definitely felt more respected when I play at other courses like widgi creek or eagle crest and paid much less.
Ride, don't walk
A bit long for my 13 hcp and 69 years with (typical for the PacNW) short runout on the fairways. If you're in good shape and have masochistic tendencies, you can walk. But I wanted to consult an engineering textbook afterwards to find out how every hole but one after #8 could be uphill - and not just a little. But a beer sounded better. Unfortunately, I had to have it somewhere else as the place was closed when we finished at 4PM.
Beautiful Scenic Course
This is a very scenic course in a great central location in Bend. It is a verry challenging course and I would not recommend it for beginning golfers. The course is considered a walkable course , however we are younger seniors and I am not sure we could have walked it....at least the first time. I did not pay attention to the fine print in the GolfNow booking which was very clear, thus I paid $17 per person for the cart. I consider that a lot, especially with the quality of the old rough EzeGo gas carts. Perhaps the high cost is being used to purchase new ones! The course is in pretty good shape, but the presence of sprinklers on full blast in the middle of the fairways was mildly annoying. Long holes don't forgive too many bad shots. Excellent hints right on the scorecard were very helpful....great idea. Appreciated the great service from the lady in the pro shop. The course was moderately busy, but moved along well. A must play in Bend, just pay attention to your booking.
Living on the Rivers Edge
I've played this course many times over the years but it had been a few since being here. Overall the condition of the course was pretty average. For the prices they charge it really isn't as good as it should be. Cart paths at really rough and there are way too many trees that need trimming to facilitate better playing conditions. Large pine branches cutting in to tee shots to the fairway is unacceptable for a major 18 hole course. But it was a beautiful day and the views over looking Bend are second to none at this course.
Great Times!
Great facilities! course was great and well maintained...The staff was very friendly. I went to play solo and ended up being paired up...I had an excellent playing partner...I definitely recommend if you're in the area
Worst golf carts.
For the past 6 years we have played this course on vacation. The course is nice and challenging, but every year I keep thinking that they will have replaced their golf carts. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED!!! Absolutely the worst golf carts ever. The carts jerk, rattle, and the brakes. Are terrible.
Good bargain course!
A fair price for a fair round of golf. Well maintained course, with good clean views of Bend and it's surroundings. Great course if you're looking for a decent round of golf at a decent price!
Big elevation changes!
My wife and I played mid day, weekday, carrying and walking in about 3.5 hrs . Found the course plenty challenging, with some interesting holes...some holes require accuracy off tee as well as approach shots(and be careful on short puts too!)...some have very small greens...several blind shots...some very cool elevation changes as well! Fun and challenging! We both felt the greens need more attention, but considering it IS November, we give a pass on that. If you walk this course, you'll get a good workout(glad we did walk it) due to elevation changes and some distance between tees and greens. Very nice views from the high points.
This course is in reasonably good condition, though far from pristine...but unless you get a 'Hot Deal' it seems a bit over priced(for regular rates). We will definitely play again, had a fun round!
Very Disappointed
Based on the description of the course, and the cost, we expected a great experience, which is not at all what we got. The course was in poor condition on the day we played, as was the (gasoline) cart. We saw and heard a lot more traffic than we did of the river (which was visible only on one hole), including having to cross a very busy street twice. We did not find River's Edge to be enjoyable at all and would not recommend it to others.
Course is up and down hills. Tees were in great shape, but the rest of the course? Needs a lot of work.
Course is up and down hills. Tees were in great shape, but the rest of the course? Needs a lot of work. The driving range was off mats with plenty of grass available. Probably the most disappointing were the gas carts. They were old, noisy and not something that would make me come back. Many blind shots as well.
coures is challenging, but very fun to play !
what a great fall day to play golf, the course was full of great fall colors all the leafs changing. the fairways and greens maintained so nicely. i booked solo and got paired up with a great guy, was just like playing with an old friend !
Fun course
Rivers Edge is always a fun one! Very much a target golf course. Accuracy is king on this track. Even after you hit a good tee shot, tall ponderosa pines will make you hit creative shots to find the small greens. Still in decent shape for October.
Interesting
First hole tee is 500 ft above green with narrow landing. Lots of elevation changes on entire course. Back nine has wide fairways. Played Juniper yesterday and their greens were much faster. Great vistas of the mountains when the sky cleared.
Great experience
Beautiful course, worth the challenge. Would play here again when in the area.
I really, really, really love golf.
It is a pretty course, but it not a fair course. It is not fair because there is no rough, and if you hit your ball out of the fairway, you lose it. Fred was a nice guy, but it is not fair that the proshop requires you to add a fourth to a foursome. When I am paying good money to play, I want to play with who I want to play with. The hats are not worth a flip. They are poor quality, and if you go to the Inn of the Mountain Gods they have better hats. They only had 3 colors of hats, and at the Inn you could get all kinds of good stuff. Not to mention shirts.
Nice track
Generally not thought of as one of the better tracks in and around Bend, but this is a nice course for the money! At a 134 slope from the golds, it was more than enough of a challenge. The back nine is particularly nice. Only complaint was the carts are old and need to be replaced. They also charge $17 a person for use of one. The course is quite hilly so from my perspective it really wasn't walkable so if $$ are a factor I choosing the course keep it in mind
Definitely will play this again
