Fun course with great views.
We enjoyed the course. It's very hilly and quite difficult. No two holes are alike, a feature we really liked. Every hole was a totally new experience. Greens were a little rough due to having been punched recently but still very playable. We played on Friday and there was nobody in front or behind us. This provided a nice steady pace. Next time we are in the area we will definitely play it again.
Tight, hit 'em straight
Great views of the city of Bend, course was in great shape, first class treatment from all @ Rivers Edge
Good value
Hilly course with some nice views. A little quirky.
Nice course but see below
It rained and we only got to play 5 holes but they would only give us a rain check for 9 holes and not a cart although we paid for one.
We tried 2 times to wait out the lightning but it was just too much that day.
friendly staff, course nice, water in middle of round?!?!
course was great. water came on in the middle of our round more than once. that was a bit aggravating but we played through it. I would recommend this course to anyone who likes a challenge and enjoys different scenery during a round.
the course has some unique holes
Ok course to play not one of my favorite in the central Oregon, good price.
Tough course rewards your 'A' game
Course is in generally great shape except for some obvious underground leaks in places. Known for some difficult holes, if you miss hit it plan on some high scores.
Recommend to play first time with a local
This is a narrow and hilly course with lots of doglegs and key shot-making requirements that will make a difference between a low score and a much higher than usual. If you can't play with someone who knows the course the first time, pay close attention to the Pro Hints provided on the scorecard . . . it'll tell you where you need to be on your tee shot to set up a makeable approach shot. The greens were in great shape and true. The fairways and out-of-bounds are a little less defined, and the cart paths could use some work. The cart girl was a 10! Playing it a second time you'll likely select some different clubs and aim at a different spot.
Beautiful course!
Lots of elevation change and blind shorts. Three of us played in 3:45 so we didn't waste a whole day on the course. If I lived here I would play ALL the time at Rivers Edge!
This course has great views of Bend.
It would help to have some visual yardage markers. (150 stakes) Many holes are not driver friendly. Lots of hills and valleys, with a great elevated par 3.
Great value, fun course but challenging.
May not be for the serious golfer. Some holes could be considered "tricked". It's a great value and I had much fun playing it. As long as you are looking for a fun but challenging round of golf this should fit the bill.
A walkers challenge!
If you want a physical challenge then throw your bag
over your shoulders and start down the ski slope #1 hole.
But all downhills deserve an up, so put on those
hiking boots for #9.
Great course - in very good shape
We found the course to be very challenging. The staff was very friendly. We were very happy with our experience at Rivers Edge.
this course has good features
Great course to play and will play it again when I'm in town. Great staff and you got to love the elevation changes that tempt you to try and cut the corner nothing like watching your ball fly over 250 ft pine trees and then finding your ball in the fairway. Greens do need a little work.
Target golf on front 9, more open on back.
Great value, views and course. Great course for our wives that play maybe 5 times a year.
Great golf course, greens need a little attention
I've played Rivers Edge several times in the past and have always enjoyed the challenging layout, great maintenance and scenic views. The course is generally if good shape for this early time of year, but several of the greens had numerous holes in them that had been sanded to keep them from looking like divots. Again, probably related to the early time of year and if my previous rounds are any indication, the greens will be in better shape as the weather gets warmer. Still beautiful and a great test for your game!
Challenging course due to sloped and tree lined fairways.
For the money, this course is well worth the round. However, there are many holes with sloped fairways and strategically placed tress, with some narrow tees and/or approaches, that do make this course a challenge. Some well hit tee shots can end up with a side hill lie even in the middle of the fairway. The ability to work the ball from left to right or right to left is very helpful here. Greens are in need of some improvement during the early season due to Elk. *Note - at least 5 greens were severely spotted and a few weeks from being solid again.
Again, for the money (anything $35 and under) this course is worth the money considering the 55 - 75$ of some surrounding courses.
Walking this course is definitely a work out. With the hills and side slopes, a cart is very recommended.
Rivers Edge
The course for the most part was in good shape. The greens seemed to have suffered over the winter. It was a great rate. Web site said $11.00 for a cart which is good for 9 holes. It was $17.00 per person for 18 so update web pages. Great value. This is my home course.
Good course, terrible condition
The overall layout of the course is nice. The greens are challenging and tiered. However, the greens keeper needs to step it up a notch. Burn marks all over the greens, very bumpy , and rock chuck holes everywhere. Too bad it was in such rough shape!
A very challenging WORKOUT!
Fun course, but really quite difficult because of its ups and downs and uneven lies. I advise you to take a cart. Unless you are in excellent physical condition, it is very difficult to walk this course. The course is indeed unique, though, and I recommend your playing it if you are anywhere near Bend, OR., especially at golfnow's prices.
