Beautiful course
This is a really beautiful and challenging course. Greens were perfect, views of bend are fabulous. Loved the course and the staff were super!
Must Play
A beautiful course with amazing views. Holes are framed beautifully with red woods. If you are in Bend, it is a must play!
Very nice course
Very plush conditions, good greens. Twosome, no one in front, so played in three hours. Enjoyed the elevation changes. Play it forward for your level, you will enjoy.
Pleasantly Surprised
This was my first trip to the River's Edge course. As my title states, I was pleasantly surprised. They have an excellent course, and a nice practice facility too. The views are some of the best that Bend has to offer (in terms of from a golf course).
My only complaint is that there were two large groups in front of me, 5-6 people in each. I had a long wait at holes 2 and 3 (10+ minutes). The course marshall came around & didn't do a thing about it. Finally, my frustration got the best of me & I drove past both large groups and another twosome. I skipped two of the holes as a result but replayed a couple on the back to make it up. Wouldn't you know, the large groups had just finished their 9 holes as I completed my 18...course management could have done better.
Regardless, the fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were true. There's a magnificent par 3 on the back with a huge drop in elevation. Watching my ball float in the air for such a long time & splash the green made it worth the trip.
I'll be back because I enjoyed the course so much but I'll be leery of how many people are in front of me out there.
Let's play again
The worst thing is I had to go home and couldn't play River's Edge again. The only flaw I could see was that they need to take better care of their sand traps. They had grass growing in a couple I landed in.
Fun, challenging and spectacular views
Views are great, holes are unique, challenging but fine for a bogey or better golfer. Highly encourage a power cart as there a several up hill holes.
Great course!
Mostly really enjoyed this course. Interesting fairways. Scenery beautiful. The distance markers were hard to find or didn't exist. Signed up to play the next day! Course in great shape.
Great deal good people
A friend and myself played rivers edge yesterday and it was a good time. They accommodated us by letting us on early I'd have to say the only thing I didn't like was when the grounds keeper didn't stop mowing when we got to the green he just kept going around us. We did have fun and play a quick round nothing held us up.
Rivers Edge
Staff was not great, too
many twosomes a single with a pull cart in front of us and a single in a cart trying to play thru everyone.
no GPS a card with some info poor or no markings on the course no 'barbers poles to give you sight lines no yardage makers on the course.
poor directions to next tee where you cross public roads, and follow sidewalks to enterance to next tee boxes.
Fabulous golf outing
We were a foursome golfing and riding 18 holes. It was a glorious afternoon, and the course was in excellent shape. The staff was friendly and helpful (thanks Debbie) and made us feel welcome. We are visitors from Victoria BC and will definitely return next time we visit Bend. Highly recommended
A fun but challenging course.
One of the best in Central Oregon. The course is in excellent shape. Some holes are very challenging, but overall a fun course to play.
1st course in Bend for me
My buddies and I played this course on the 1st weekend in May. The weather was excellent and we had a early tee off so there was hardly anyone on the course. The staff were pleasant and the course was in great shape. The 16th hole with the elevation change is breathtaking. I would ride next time instead of walking as the back 9 is a pretty brutal walk uphill for the first few holes. Other than that, I will definitely be back to Bend to play again.
Great Day
I had fun the course is in great shape and the greens are speeding up.
A fun, roller coaster of a round
What a gem of a course. You will be challenged and you will have fun. This course is built into the side of a hill (Awbrey Butte), so it will have some amazing holes to play...great elevation changes. I really enjoyed the topography and overall design. The first hole is a short Par 4, slight dogleg left, tight and straight down hill. What a great starting hole. I knew I was in for an incredible roller coaster ride...it will get you excited...and nervous. I also like how the holes were lined with Ponderosa Pine, Western Juniper, and your high desert scrub brush. The conditions of the course in April were very good and the greens were nicely groomed. Along with that, you better have your short game dialed-in because the greens were very undulated. It was a challenge to read the greens, so embrace the challenge and have fun with the putter.
Also, some holes had some really nice views of the surrounding area of Bend and beyond towards the east. The practice facility was designed well with a nice sized putting/practice green and a solid driving range. Finally, I was very impressed with the staff, including the maintenance crew. They were very welcoming and would go out of their way to make sure that you would have a great time. Troy, the Head Pro, runs a great program out there...Thanks for a memorable round. I will spread the word about this course back home in Seattle. Looking forward to my next round at River's Edge. Again, what a gem.
October Splender
What??? A round of golf at this great course in October. Weather: Perfect. Course: Beautiful. People: Wonderful. My favorite place to play in Bend.
Coming back!
Thanks for the great day on Saturday. Course was perfect even after punching the greens, I think, in early September. One of my favorite places to play and bring my buddies.
Something for everybody
I can not imagine being in this area and NOT playing this course. It is beautiful and challenging.
Central Oregon Fall Golf
A very good test for all levels. The views and general course conditions made the round a pleasure to play at this fine course
Rivers edge
Most fairways sloped a lot.
Greens very bumpy
Almost all greens are elevated well
Above fairways.
