Hiland Park Country Club

What a gem! Another vacation round in the books. Shot 93, not bad for the first round here. The course was almost perfect. Every green was fantastic. Fast and plenty of break. Well maintained. Fairways were sharp and tight. Rough was very playable. Bunkers perfect and smooth. Most of the tee boxes were very good and mostly flat. 3.5 hours to ride, even though behind a few groups. Could have been sub 3 hours, but I didn’t try to play through.

It’s mostly flat and very straightforward. A few holes where you definitely only need a 5 iron off the tee for position and have 100-130 to the green. Generous fairways that have plenty of roll out. It was 3pm when I teed off and pretty humid, the cart girl did several loops which was helpful. You can definitely play the dog legs aggressively and leave yourself scoring opportunities. Had an eagle chip off the 16th but no dice. Par 3s are very inviting, made birdie on the 3rd, and almost another on the back nine. Couple greens are tiered, but will feed to the hole with a nice approach shot. Par 5s should be treated as 3 shot holes in my opinion, especially with the water in play. Definitely a strategy course to use every club in the bag. I loved it. If I lived here, I’d play here all the time. Also , Jim in the pro shop was very helpful. First thing he did was hand me a yardage book and offer advice. Ideal customer service. I’d upload images,

Course in Great Condition , Pace of Play , very good Bang for Buck , very good - not overly welcoming in Pro Shop - could care less .

Great layout. Fun challenge. Big nice greens. No 2 homes the same. Decent conditions though wet course because of the rain. Would love to play again in summer conditions.

Fairways not as good as usual due to the difficult winter and substantial rain this spring. Extra cool temperatures not helping either. As soon as some warmer dry temperatures arrive, I expect the course to be in much better shape. I always enjoy the layout and friendly staff. One of the best public courses in the area.

Course very wet due to rainy weather and some fairways took a beating during winter. Hopefully weather improves allowing them to get things back in shape.

Well manicured fairways, Good layout, some challenging hole locations and sloping greens. Customer service was excellent, they quicking corrected an issue we had at the driving range.

Surprised by the amount of ball marks left behind on a lot of the greens.

Great course which was in great condition. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Although the greens were just sanded and aerated, we still enjoyed the round. Course was challenging but playable for all skill levels.

Excellent course, but they should not let foursomes out on 10 when groups are making the turn. It turned a slow pace into a brickwall.

This is a Quality course at a very fair price. The fairways, greens and bunkers are in great shape. The layout is terrific and provides a fair challenge for players at all skill levels. The Pro Shop is well stocked as well as providing excellent service.

Not only was the golf course PERFECT, but the staff was absolutely incredible. I have never had such a good feeling entering a public golf course. From the bag attendant, snack bar ......just a great experience. More than anything, the reception I received when I entered the pro shop made me feel so comfortable. A welcoming smile, couple of quick jokes about my Red Sox hat, a complete overview of the golf course, even a free bucket of range balls. I really felt like I was a member of a private club. Other courses in the area should take a lesson from the staff at Hiland because they seem to really get it. This course is worth the price you pay and then some. Jim the golf pro is a terrific guy and very good at making you feel welcome. I am now a big fan!!!!!!

The pro called me to let me know about the wet course conditions and that 8/5/18 was walking only. I cancelled the reservation since I was not going to be able to walk the course that day. I really like the course.
