First Tee / 9th green Photo submitted by RyanBam on 08/17/2020
Course is in great shape year around
Fun course with houses around it, making it extra fun.
Great 9 hole course
I really enjoyed this course. Even with the barrage of rain we've had the course played great and wasn't too soggy. There is some real length to the par 5's and seem to play longer even. If you hit it well off the tee you can score well cause the greens are basically flat. Good combo of water and sand throughout and a few doglegs with a elevated par 3 that was cool....I give it a thumbs up
Great
We had a great time at this course.
Even though it has rained for days the course was wet but not saturated.
Greens were fairly quick for the conditions.
Staff and other golfers were very friendly.
Would go again.
Close to home.
I booked the tee time with golfnow.com for $7.00. It is just a mile away from my house. It is good place to be when I don’t have a lot of time to play 18. The staff in the pro-shop can be a downer sometime.
Not bad for an afternoon round close by after work.
Starter was a bit gruff. But we teed off almost 10 minutes late due to slow play ahead of us. 9th fairway was mismarked which caused me to overshoot the green on approach. Otherwise, an average course.
This course is a jewel.
I wish I lived closer as I would play this course more often. The putting greens are right mixture of not too easy..not too hard. The fairways are very well maintained and the ball bounces true and further than at other places I play. The staff is very nice. I like to play ready golf and hate to wait for people who do not practice good golf etiquette. The staff does a nice job of keeping everyone moving so it doesn't take 3 hours to play 9 holes. It is reasonably priced. I have only had very positive golf experiences playing here. I highly recommend this course.
This course needs some maintenance!
The course could use some work. Too many weeds and Unmowed fairways. Not looking to go back, even for the discount.
Poor conditions
Good test for your skills with the various tee boxes.. However the condition of the course is very poor.
I played the course around 3 years ago and one reason for booking yesterday was the early tee time for 9 holes on a Saturday.
Overpriced for the condition of the course.. Maybe that's why they had openings..
This golf course is for beginners.
First three holes are quite challenging. Greens are fast in the summer. Beginners will find this course fun and challenging.
Beautiful homes, trees and water hazzards adorn the course which calls for accuracy thruought play.
Walked the 9-hole course twice to complete 18 holes of golf. We finished quickly because the course was wide open as there were few golfers, possible because of the threatening rain in the forcaste. This was my 2nd time playing the course this year, but this time the elelments (wind and rain) had a noticeable effect on my game. I shot five stokes more than usual. It seems the wind and rain make the course more challenging than meets the eye. Also, the greens seemed well maintained and the ball rolled pretty true to form during putting. However, there were noticeable bird droppings in sections of the rough and fairway, where water aligned these holes, from tee to green. Fun course.
Beautiful, well-maintained course.
In spite of playing in the light rain, and a housing community surrounding Claremont, it is a lovely course, well-maintained, and was a great way to start my golfing year! I wish it were an 18-hole course, but for a 9-hole course (a little on the short side; we played the blues) it is a lovely, fun chance to get outside and play.
Water and bunkers come into play if your not careful. Hackers and Slicers not recomended on this course as very nice homes are all along the course.
Nicely laid out course in a great location. Water features make this course relaxing.
Casual Golfing
This course is great for bringing a girlfriend/wife or any less than experienced golfer. The pace of play can be slow, which is a good thing when you have someone who is learning, but can get frustrating if you would like to move at a more reasonable pace. The course is well maintained, but nothing special.
Fun nine-hole course with individual holes
This is a fairly priced course is a nice neighborhood. The holes are each different and do not adjoin one another. Water comes into play on several requiring a good strategy. The par fours are a bit short and number two at 550 plus and uphill is too long from white tees. It seems they should have shortened this hole and added length to some of the fours. The course is reasonably tight. The staff is friendly and the numerous times we have played it the pace has been fine
Very nice layout
My first time playing Claremont, so I did not know the course. It is not long at all, but it offers interesting challenges in shot selection and the greens require thought and touch due to their multiple levels that afford some interesting pin placements. I played just 2 weeks after aeration, yet the greens were in fine shape.
I had a very enjoyable 9 holes (in 1hr50min), and it is one of the nicest 9-hole courses I have played in years. Overall I give it 4 stars.
Good course for a quick nine holes
I find it difficult to get a reservation to play nine holes on a regulation course. This nine hole course is built through a housing development (or was it the other way around?), but it is not an "executive course". It offers some challenging holes with fair length. I played the course toward the end of a long dry spell, but the course had been watered and cared for. The greens were still a little bumpy for the fall aereation, but I think they would be pretty quick once they have had a full chance to recover. Pace of play was good. The only place to lose balls was in someone's back yard or water on a couple of holes, so we did not spend much time looking for lost balls. We played with one novice golfer, and he had a good time as well.
Best 9 hole course in Portland Metro Area
Well maintained, neither easy nor extremely difficult. If you don't mind being surrounded by a housing tract you won't find a better 9 hole course in the area.
Nice place to golf
I found the course well maintained and fairly challenging. There are some bare spots and ground under construction but overall in pretty good shape. When the course is busy, they could use some more monitoring. Pace of play can be very slow and on two separate occasions players behind us have hit while we were in range.
great for a quick 9
Although just 9 holes, Claremont has a good variety and lets you work on your all-around play. The most frustrating part is no practice facilities other than a small practice green.
